Desktop backgrounds are always fun to search through and choose for your own, so why not keep our own list here in SeeD of sites that have some cool desktop backgrounds. Reply here if you have any site submissions of your own and I'll add 'em to the list.

1) www.caedes.net - Hundreds and hundreds of free desktop backgrounds submitted by visitors of the site, it's impossible to not find something you like.

2) www.digitalblasphemy.com - Mystical-like backdrops with a Top 10 list.

3) www.pc-wallpapers.co.uk - Contains plenty of galleries for various categories that you're sure to be looking for.

4) http://www.basehead.org/ - Very large selection of desktop wallpapers from many categories, though beware of many ads.

5) http://sensitivelight.com/galleries/ - A bunch of nice quality images, though I suggest you avoid the people categories since they're not the ideal desktops. Well, except for this guy.

6) http://interfacelift.com/wallpaper/ - List of 450+ desktop wallpapers with ratings and resolution choices for download.

7) http://www.movieswallpapers.org/ - You guessed it, wallpapers for movies! Good selections, though searching may be slightly troublesome and you'll encounter some annoying pop-ups.

8) http://wallpapers.jurko.net/ - A nice selection of desktop backgrounds that are accessible to anyone. What's unique about this site is that not only can you sort their the wallpapers by galleries, but by color, too.

yea, these are cool, and i have been to that last one, xal, but it seems like some of them focus on porn in some areas instead of family friendly things. but hey, it's the internet. i'm not really all that surprised.

Yeah, avoided adding any sites that include even a little porn-related wallpaper because these forums are open to all ages, and I don't even think someone older would use it as their desktop in fear of someone else seeing it.

All I've been doing is right-clicking and "Save Target As.." (bitmap). Is it possible to get viruses or anything from doing it that way?

dont save the images just right click "set as background image/wallpaper"
