I'm just posting this because more and more seem to be using proxies for security reasons (which is fine). I've also heard of them recently being spread around the RS world, which is making them more appealing to many. Not everyone really understands the risks involved though, and especially with them being suggested through Runescape, they may be getting particularly dangerous at the moment.
There are different types of proxies, and certain types act as a sort of middle-computer when browsing the internet. I don't really want to get into the details (just search for information on Google, it's everywhere), but as such, they can potentially record what you do on the internet. If you're using a proxy of which you do not know the safety, you could potentially be compromising your privacy and security.
I just thought that I'd post this notice, and advise all users of proxies to be careful.

The address for Google's VPN is http://wifi.google.com/download.html.
You may also want to give Tor (http://tor.eff.org/) a try.

Those who will remember, will speak fondly of the warm morning breeze.

Well, I'd trust Google for it being pretty much safe... although I believe that in their ToS somewhere there is mention that they do record what you do (probably for their search engine).
I doubt there's any harm using it for just IP masking purposes, but I still wouldn't recommend that you use Google's VPN for anything you want to be secure.
