Large Changes To Leadership Soon
#1

This is just a notice that I thought I'd post here:
There is a possibility of major changes to leadership in SeeD, including new positions and organizational structure. Remember though... This is a possibility, and will only be implemented if Rylkan and I find this necessary. I am not going to announce what these changes are just yet (not until we know for sure what we'll do), but do not worry if you already have a leadership position; nobody is losing their ranks.
I will guarantee fairly large changes to the Garden system though. Other possible changes are likely to be unexpected by anyone here at the moment (involving the site and new positions). I will keep everyone informed.
Just so everyone knows, please don't IM, PM, or email any leaders asking for a promotion. We base our decisions on a number of factors and asking about gaining a position would count against you (unless it is the rank of Commander, which we generally favor those who seem to want the job the most).

Spikeout, give me a promotion! plz plz plz plz!
No no, just kidding (even though you are going to give me one cause you love me!
)
Anyways, I think the rankings should be like a Lt., General, Private, Colonel, etc.
But Gardens could also have a high council... example: top 4 or 5 people in the garden would be the high council, you know what they do.
Just a thought...

I've been gone since forever.
It's like nostalgia randomly coming back...
How many times has it been now? Haha.
Also, if there was ever any confusion,
Sir Blackma does not mean Sir Blackman,
and I am WHITE. Just thought I'd clear
that up lol.

Garden ranks up until now have been decided by the garden in question, which gives Gardens a good variety.
I reckon there should be a rank between commander and general and normal SeeD and commander because these areas are the biggest gaps.
Possibly trainee commander and trainee General would be good because it would be a good way to test leadership abilities before they become leaders.
Also id like to say that I disagree with

Too many people get a rank because they want one, and most of these people wont make any effort to do anything once they get the rank, so whats the point giving it to them.
for example (naming no names)

i would liket a clan, the name will be THE *name changed*: sound cool you could put anyone i recruit in it and do it on the next update plz i would like to have dragontay and dragonhunta2 in it as my first members |
which cspace replied to:

I'll add it with the next update |
the person concernd didnt get a garden but that isnt the point.
He didnt say how he would make his garden special or anything he just said he wanted one.
SeeDs are meant to turn to a commander for help rather than a general, isnt it stupid to do that if your commander has never even posted in the gardens board.
I mean id like a garden who wouldnt? But it would be nice to think I was chosen because i was active or helpfull or had good ideas (not saying i am but saying id like to think i was

P.S ack i allways seem to argue with cspace but i have nothing but respect for the guy.

The rank between Commander and General will be established (it is based on a form of Garden Divisions), but the rank between member and Commander must be established by the Garden currently (too many ranks in SeeD would be confusing and not as worthwhile since the clan can only be so organized based on the nature of the game). We have had a General in Training once before and it works for those who think they need a little assistance at first, though is not suitable for everyone (the trainee was actually more than capable of being a General).

Commanders should basically be active and enjoy the clan. The size of Gardens has remained small, so any active members should have the chance to lead others if they wish. This is likely to change though because Garden size limits will be dissolved to a point with the next update. Thanks for your suggestions though, they will surely be considered with the update.

Hehe, I'm sure the SeeD Court will be more serious after the new leadership positions are established. Thanks for bringing this up

I've found that clans which have too many ranks have little organization. This is due to the nature of the game (not reality) and only so many true ranks can exist and work as expected. Instead of more of a chain of command (like you suggested), there will be specialized leaders who focus on specific aspects of the clan and have a set amount of authority in relation to General. As for the High Council though, this will be more possible after the organization update. Won't be included yet though, but who knows about later on. Thanks for bringing this up as well
