We did this for many reasons:
- Matrix-Chat is stable and not overly massive, and compared to some networks is relatively safe to use.
- Their services are easy to use for those not familiar with IRC.
- Chanserv, Nickserv, and Memoserv are typical and not as limited as their equivalents on most mainstream networks.
- Some SeeDs have made friends in other channels on their network.
- To change wouldn't really give us any technical benefits that would pertain to us.

Since we now have a private channel where staff will not enter unless requested (except Kimo
), the problems that a few members had no longer exist.Therefore don't go to the staff to cause trouble.
I don't even want to hear about a few members' grudges against their staff anymore because they are taking a hands-off approach to our channels (now #seedchat and #astromech). This doesn't mean break obvious rules in our channels, but don't start unnecessary problems with the network.
As with before, other channels still remain as they were, and if you visit them you must go by whatever rules they have set there. The staff can intervene in others' channels so please be aware of that.

A further change is highly unlikely in the near future. Everyone who was registered before is registered now, although some ops will need to be re-opped.

The Purpose Of Each Channel:
#seedchat: Our primary channel, please use #seedchat unless another channel is necessary. I set it so #seedchat is the channel that appears immediately after accessing either chat applet so this would be more obvious to new users. This chat is private and will have no un-requested staff appearances (except Kimo).
#astromech: This is R2-D4's channel. R2-D4 exists on ALL of our channels when it is signed on, but the purpose of this channel is as an alternative to #seedchat. If #seedchat is being used for something (games or chats), feel free to come to #astromech if using #seedchat would be an interference. Feel free to come to #astromech to play a different game as well, if #seedchat is being used for a game you do not wish to play. R2 can multitask so it's not a problem. Also, this chat is private, so no staff will appear un-requested except Kimo.
#cspacechat: This is our public channel. The staff can appear in #cspacechat as before. If you have a problem with that for some reason, please don't use #cspacechat. It is a channel for promotion and other things required to be in the open, and doesn't need to be used for our chats unless desired. R2 exists in #cspacechat as well, so if it is a really busy moment on the other chats feel free to use #cspacechat as another alternative.

Sounds good, a private channel seems to be a better choice to settle any problems and so that some can keep in contact with staff members.
But i rarely go to those other channels unless im booooooored
