if they wanted mermaids, then she would have to marry some sort of fish, since dolphins are mammals and not fish. so somehow i doubt that works. and besides, if they wanted to create a mermaid they could always do what theyve started doing with mice, which is just inject human cells into their embryos <_<

I don't think mermaids are definitely part-fish though. They've just got the huge tailfin, which dolphins have.
