I have recently heard about this threat to Windows PCs. It seems that there is a virus that can be triggered by merely opening or looking at an image. The image file is embedded with the virus, and this does not have to be downloaded in order to catch it (putting even wary users at risk). Here is the CNN story, and this is the patch released by Microsoft today.

Yeah, Rat and I were testing it last night. I've been patched since last week with the unofficial patch, but I got rat to open the image, and it gave me a command prompt to his machine. I just didn't post it, because I'd get all of the people going "pmg firefox fanboi!!11" "IE still pwnz uuu!!!!111".

My computer auto-updates daily, so it's not really a problem for me. grnwink.gif

Thanks for bringing it up though, I'm sure there are a lot of people that appreciate it. TheSmile.gif

No need to worry, if you have the security and necessary protection you should be ok, if not back up and overhaul your computer. arcadefreak.gif
