Ooooh god.... Droks. I hate Droks. Took me forever to find a runner. Took even longer to get out of the hell that is finding armor. Thank god for rich people. One guy bought me the whole set!

Actually Me, Cspace, OM, Star and Althena attempted the run just as a trial. Died several times near the start but it ended up being that Cspace made the run half way before being gunned down by Giants. biglaugh.gif

Protective Spirit really saved Star... it's so amazing! She's level 6 and she made it up to the first cave. eek4.gif

Although we've sorted out the first half of the run, just gotta suss the second half. icon_sweatdrop.gif

^^ Thanks Ayumi, you rock!! ^^

How many five-year-olds could you take in a fight?

Yeah, we've pretty much figured out the first half. Was ugly with the first few attempts, but every following attempt we got further and further, until we got through the first area and got into the drifts.

I think Tan and I devised a way to get through the part with the giants. Given a few attempts we could make it to Snake Dance.

Once we hit Snake Dance, even though it is really long, it is easier than the first half. To get that down we could just do the reverse run until we make it to the drifts, and then try the whole run.

Given a little time, I'm confident that both Tan (with his W/R) and I can run it alone. Goto seems interested as well, with his W/Mo, another class well matched for it.

So if all goes well, in time we could have three Droks runners in the guild. grnwink.gif

It is most definitely feasible.

There's nothing to work out. bluetongue.gif

It'll just take some practice runs and eventually we should get it.

Yeah, but otherwise I don't know when you're going. <_<

And I want to run too, just need the last 5 levels on my W/Mo, and my Mo/N is already level 9 in Nolani, doing that mission in a few minutes, I'll catch up *Shakes fist*

lol... if you have me or any other Monk in the party with Protective Spirit, you could make it to the first cave. bluetongue.gif

I was on the edge of my seat watching Cspace run... he nearly died at one point but the monsters turned back at the last second! And Butch is crazy! Cspace's pet managed to stay alive alongside him until he was mauled. eek4.gif

I'm interested, you guys would have to show me what to do though. And it'll have to wait a few days until I won't be lagging out at the wrong moment. bluetongue.gif

Tanny, does that Mark of Protection come in handy at all along the way? Oh, and if we're running through rather than fighting anything, I wonder if it would be worthwhile for me to find a decent shield and put my hammer stats into tactics. bluetongue.gif

Actually now that we have Mark of Protection (Go us!) it would come in handy for the run however only for 10 seconds and that'd mean risk of losing Protective Spirit. And really on that run, it's every man or woman for himself/herself because as a Monk, it's hard to focus on someone else without dying yourself.

My Protective Spirit lasts for 16 seconds (blah... would be easier as a primary Monk) and the recharge rate is 5 or 10 seconds I believe. If you have a decent energy regeneration after healing yourself as well, you could constantly cast it on yourself and keep alive seeing as it takes up 10 energy points. The only downfall with that spell is that you can be easily interrupted while casting it as I was when being clobbered by those worms since everytime they pop up out of the ground, all opponents in the area are knocked down.

If you don't heal yourself fast enough when you have Protective Spirit on you, you can die quick in 10 hits if you're getting clobbered. If you're a Monk, I found out that a combination of Protective Spirit, Guardian/Aegis, Shielding Hands and Healing Breeze with the odd Orison of Healing helped keep me alive. Shield of Regeneration or Mark of Protection (elites) would seem logical as well. Stinks though 'cause the worms can prevent you from casting by interruption.

So long casting times are out, although they usually are anyway when you're running. I found quite an interesting skill for primary Rangers, uses the Expertise stat. It's an Elite called Escape, you get it in Snake Dance. For 5-15 seconds, you run 25% faster and have a 75% chance to evade attacks. It has no casting time and only costs 5 energy, but the recharge is a hefty 30 seconds. It could still be handy, though. user posted image
This is apparently a map of some of the locations the boss shows up, a reverse run from Drok might be the easiest way to try to get it.

Actually, if you head north outside Droknar's into the Troll cave, the boss for Escape is also there.

I found that to be a faster cap.
