A few have been bringing ideas to me regarding a SeeD holiday of sorts, and I was wondering what everyone thinks?

Here are the proposed dates for when stuff could happen:

SeeD Day: November 28th (when SeeD began)

SeeD Month From November 28th until December Somethingth... ?

**************************************************

What happenings do you think you would like on SeeD Day, and what do you think could happen during SeeD Month (or whatever name we give it)?

Post your suggestions here grnwink.gif

Thanks

We need events. Lots of events. Pre-planned events. Spontaneous events. A variety of events, led by a variety of people.

Basically, I want to be able to find an event on SeeD Day no matter what time of day I log on.

Ambitious? Probably. But we can try bluetongue.gif
Those who will remember, will speak fondly of the warm morning breeze.

I suggest probably limiting it to a day, if it's over a whole month then there won't really be the same level of excitement.

Good idea though, could be a lot of fun. Events are a must, and maybe if we try to organise events in multiple games, and in chat and so forth too. A Guild Wars event could be quite fun, particularly if we have a guild hall by then.

Hmm... what else? Maybe a temporary 'SeeD Day' skin to the forums, and change everybodies default to reflect the festivities? bluetongue.gif

Oh, and if you did want longer than a day, maybe SeeD Week. I just think a month is too long, after the first few days nobody will care, and we won't be able to sustain events over that period of time.

Well, for the SeeD Month/Week, I was thinking of something more site-related instead of constant events. Not sure exactly what though, maybe a 'SeeD Rules' screenshot contest thing (inter-game), a scavenger hunt, or stuff like that. Basically contests and events that require more than a day.

Maybe we can have SeeDs schedule events in their own time zones on SeeD day... not overlapping or anything. We have members around the world, if we work something out along these lines it is feasible to have a day of non-stop events. It'll have to be longer than 24 hours though, since the day would be at a different time for everyone as well. Would be awesome if carried out. bluetongue.gif

The date may have to change though... unless everyone wants this on a Monday. eek7.gif

Or maybe we can have the actual events on a different day, and have more site-related happenings on the 28th.. Or maybe something else, I dunno.

Sounds like a great idea grnwink.gif We have to have a big party sometime though. A holiday isnt complete without one! Maybe we should have several ones to fit into each timezone. That way nobody misses out and we have no real difficulty working out a time that suits everyone.

Sounds good Cspace. I especially like Phi's idea, but I think it may realistically take a good deal more members for events to happen every day. But, we can try TheSmile.gif .

The SeeD Day date is more of a SeeD anniversary though, so maybe just a special SeeD Month since we always have a ton of fun with everything going on late autumn and into the Chistmas Holidays. yes.gif

Not sure what we could do on SeeD's Anniversary Day, maybe one large event (hopefully long-lasting) with a very large variety of things going on. And for SeeD Month I'd also go for contests and such that take time (like to submit things or build up something). Don't have any ideas at the moment though, maybe something with pop up in my head eventually. idea.gif

I'm still thinking a month is too long for a sustained effort, even if they're slightly longer term activities.

In my opinion a week would be ideal, with one of the days (on the weekend, preferably) devoted to lots of events, contests, etc.

Doesn't mean we can't hold any contests that take more than a week to organise, they could always be organised early and brought to a finale during SeeD Week. bluetongue.gif

Anyway, there's been one or two things I've been considering, maybe I should put some time into planning some stuff for this. ShiftyEyes_anim.gif

I like phi's idea, except I don't think that it is possible either. Maybe try and do it for a week with breaks for a few hours and see if we can get a semi-filled week
