As always keep this in mind

And when it comes to sizes... We really provide a lot of freedom with regards to the amount of content depending on how it is laid out, but half a page on 1024x768 should be enough. A signature is a signature, a mark that identifies you, not a life story... A rectangular tag image, a quote, stuff like that is what a sig is for. Your sig is viewed under every single post that you write. Out of courtesy you shouldn't make your signature dominate everything you post.

It is often considered disrespectful for one to force a massive signature on others, regardless of what it is. Compared to other communities, half a page on 1024x768 is a lot. Please don't exceed this basic limit. This also applies to sigs with one excessively large image...

Generally a signature has some sort of content that you want others to see. You don't want to provide so much that it is ignored, because then it would not serve its purpose and it would be an annoyance to others.

And lastly... Don't have images or other content stretch the page horizontally. If a member's signature causes the horizontal scroll bar to appear in a thread, it is subject to quick alteration by a moderator.

*********************************************

If a signature is excessively large, or goes against anything in the thread linked at the top of this post, a moderator should edit it without warning. The content removed by the moderator must, unless breaking general content rules, be copied to the bottom of the member's extended signature. This way it can be reconfigured by the member when he or she wishes.

For those who do not know, the extended signature is accessible in everyone's profiles and is for your 'life story' if you choose to present it. bluetongue.gif

But please keep this in mind... We aren't just putting these limits on everyone because we feel like it; when one goes against these general guidelines, it is disrespectful to everyone, and is a hinderance when viewing threads.
