i herd so much about xfire programe from a magazine but i would like to know if it is safe to use (no viruses or spywear)

It is. Go to the Guild Wars faction pinned topics and you can find a list of GW members on Xfire. (Just a few names to put on your list)

It's an easier way than AIM or Msn to keep in touch with gamers you meet on games without buddy lists like Halo.
