Well, that is certainly going to make traveling to nearby solar systems take less time. Anyone for a 4 or 5 year road trip to Alpha Weapon Centari?

when i get bored i drink mt. dew... or surge...

you dont want to be trapped in a little can with me... in 0-Grav... after ive had about 5 of those things.

especially if im allowed to get on the radio to earth...

It still would take billions of years to visit other galaxies sad.gif . But hey, we'd get to Alpha Centauri quite soon bluetongue.gif .

Many of the elite humans can stand up to 10 g's, right? That is acceleration at a rate of 98 meters per second per second. Light speed is 299,792,458 m/s. It would take 3,059,107 seconds to reach that speed. That's 50,985 minutes, 849.75 hours, or about 35 and a half days. If we tone it down a bit to 1 g, or the normal force of gravity, it would take almost an entire year to reach the speed of light.

If the star you are aiming at is already burnt out, will the antigravity thingy work?

2100, not 2010. grnwink.gif

Quite interesting, though. I think it will still be quite a while longer than that before we're zipping around the stars, though. bluetongue.gif

A little over 100 years ago, humans couldn't even fly. Our technology is advancing at an incredible rate. I might even go as far as to say it will be in my lifetime when we travel to other planets and maybe even to other stars. bluetongue.gif
