Anyone good with SmartFTP?

Anyone here good with SmartFTP? I got info to download a little something I need, but I'm having trouble connecting, help meh?

If I have the IP, port, username and pass, do I just drop each of those into they're part (IP into the adress part) and connect?

I've tried that, it said that the client disconnected because the server didn't respond, does that just mean it's down or what? Help me.

Alright, even though they said to go through FTPs and not browsers.
