Don't confuse issues of 'race' (hate using that word, it's racist all by itself) with culture and different living conditions. I'm sure we'd all be smarter if we were under the tremendous pressure that a lot of Chinese, Japanese, etc. children get to do well in school.

As long as people cling to these unnatural stereotypes as being related to genetics, racism will persist in some form. Enforcing these stereotypes by making claims such as have been seen in this topic are just going to keep racism alive in a new generation, albeit in a different form.


I do find what Phi is talking about interesting, but naturally anything relating to langauge is going to be culturally-bound and a matter of upbringing rather than genetics, so my point still stands. If your culture stimulates the right side of the brain, evolution will follow suit and also enhance the ease at which future generations develope the right side of the brain. Humans needed opposable thumbs, so we evolved with them. Humans did not need hands for feet, so we evolved out of that. Culture and environment play a large role in the genetic advancements of certain races.

Noting these truthful aspects of races is not an evil form of racism, but saying hat all janitors are mexican and all white rappers are gay is evil racism. For that, I shall bap you! *baps*

That's very sterotypical, and you must be really ignorant to believe something like that. There is no such thing as people who are Mexican being the best lawnmowers. If you look around you see Mexican gardners and landscapers, but you also can see people who are white mowing lawns. Not everyone that is black that can talk fast and rap well. A major reason why people rap is because it's a form of expression and it's true that the Rap and hip hop industry is predominant with Mexican, Black, and very few white people. Even though someone is black, that doesnt mean they are good at talking fast. Rapping takes practice and a lot of work to become well. Also the statement that Asians are good at cramming info into their heads is crap. It's really idiotic to think you would say something like that. Not everyone who is Asian is a genius or is good at studying. I have had friends who were Asian that didnt do so hot in school, but that was their choice and sometimes it was because they had difficulties in school. It's not about their ethnicity or how they look.

Genetics doesnt have everything to do with how a person is going to turn out. It's true that genetics and evolution does play a role in how a person develops mentally and physically, but there are also other outside factors such as the media, society, family, and the people the person hands around with. You could be from a rich white upper class family and be the dumbest person in the world. It's also possible that you could be from a low class family where no one has gone to college and grow up to be a nobel prize winner. It all depends on the person and what they choose to do.

I think how someone is raised means a lot more than you guys are giving credit.

Well yes the stereotype that says that Asians are smart is because their families have probably come from a worn torn country. And they pressured thee kids to make there lives better than there own. For instance i talked to this one Cambodian guy who was alive at the time of the red gaurd. And if you don't know who the red gaurd is they are the group of communist who believed that education was evil. They believed that because the leader was afraid of any one who was educated could revolt against him. So he had thousands upon thousands of them killed. He was barely able to escape with his life. He finally made it over here to Alaska. He has a duaghter who is crazy smart.
