Yeah... I don't agree with you, but it's not as if I expect everyone to think the same way I do. I've never seen the reason for limiting how others choose to live their lives, but I've also never been particularly religious and I can understand that might cause some friction if you're trying to live by a faith that openly denounces it.

I'm religious but as far as gay marriage is, I am particularly neutral on this topic. I have a friend who is gay and asked him when he found out when he liked guys and he said at the time of around 6. I also have known people that were bisexual and lesbian too throughout most of my life and they say they are comfortable with who they are and I have no problems against them because of it. Also if your sexuality is on a genetic level then so be it. You shouldn't try to be something your not if your truly unhappy. It's most likely going to be a long time before gay marriage is considered to be "acceptable" by society but it will be a very long time. When I mean by "acceptable," I mean that it wont be that much of a hot topic a long time from now. I dont mean it as something that is morally and ethically wrong. But as far as whether we as a nation have a right to say if being gay is wrong, I think we dont have any right to, because let's say you go out into a community that is known to be predominantly gay and go and say "Ah, all gay people are sick and deserve to burn, it's trash like this that makes America bad." Your going to get your beat down. That's for damn sure. Even though gay marriage might someday be accepted by society there should be a line drawn to as what is right and wrong. I think that it's entirely up to your choice what your sexual preference is.

I strongly believe that homosexuals should not have the right to marry. As a Catholic, I believe that all forms of homosexuality are extremely immoral, sinful, and wrong.

Liberalism is messing up this world enough as it is, we do not need to have to sanctity or marriage ruined aswell. >.>

Nobody would have ever guessed even 40 years ago that gays would want to get married. o_0

But marriage isn't just a Christian thing, so saying that it destroys the sancity of marriage doesn't really apply.

Now, I'm not sure about the rest of the world, so I'm only speaking in terms of US law.

Yes, marriage and religion are separate entities. The first Amendment to the US constitution explicitly gives the right to freedom of religion. This means that you are able to practice your religion freely, provided it does not violate others' freedoms. The main reason this exists is so that individuals have the right not to be forced under the rule of another religion. By creating a law against gay marriage based on religion, you are violating the US constitution. Everyone in the US has a right to be free from religion. If a law exists against gay marriage, there has to be a legitimate reason other than "it disagrees with my religion" for it to pass.

Note that even if an anti-gay-marriage law is passed, catholic churches still retain the right to marry couples inside their walls. I completely understand and respect their right to do so.

Thought someone would use the 'if everyone was gay we'd stop existing!!!1' argument... But, put it this way: How many people do you know? How many of them are gay?

Gay people aren't a threat to human existence...

Okay, hear me out.

Is it not true that Jesus is supposed to be reborn sometime? And is it also true that he is going to be born from the womb of a woman? Sadly, that is the case, because zombies are too cool, I guess. Anyway...

You can reproduce without having sex... Gay guys can just give sperm to scientists which could make lesbians pregnant, thus perpetuating the species.

*throws that arguement out of the window*

Gay pertains to both male and females...

Nobody seems to understand that. Technically because 'gay' never meant homosexual in the first place.

As far as gay is, I usually considered it to be with males, and lesbian to females. But hey whatever works.

Marriage is between a man and a woman as it was instituted by God as such. The term "marriage" has been used figurative elsewhere in other applications, but its original and true meaning is a union of a man and a woman. God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.

Those who have these gay marriages are doing something exclusive of the true definition of marriage. The gays have their own communities and like to have their own rules and are now seeking to impose this on all others. Oddly enough, this reminds me of exclusive clanning in Runescape, but I suppose that is a different topic altogether.
