In SeeD's history, there have been several attempts to set-up some sort of a mining program or organization. Unfortunatlly, all have either failed or become extremely inactive, useless, or even dead.

I was talking with cspace, and we decided that I might lead up a new mining organization. This thread is just to see who might be interested in joining. I want to see if anyone is interested before I officially create this and it becomes an inactive neusence.

Ok, so if you were to become part of this, you would help mine whatever would be easiest for you. For instance, if your mining level was over 30 and you were capable of mining coal, then you should probably mine coal for us. We would need quite a few people to mine whatever they could. And then keep it handy for the low-level or new players that would need coal for profits or just for smiting into armor or weapons.

Minerdamian, who I suppose lead the miner speciality group has not been on SeeD in a couple of months. (Although I did see him on AIM a while ago.) He would be one of the people would want to help out. I suppose I would be the leader of the group...

So, who is interested?

Looks like enough people are interested! Take a look at the Esthar Garden Mining Group; discussion has moved there. TheSmile.gif

I am interested. Unfortunately, I'm also semi-inactive on RS. Depending on the details of how this is all going to work, I don't know if I'll be able to participate significantly... but I definitely like the idea. TheSmile.gif

Alrighty, anyone else? I definitely won't start this if no one is interested.

(That is how the last few mining groups failed.) nonono2.gif

Minerdamian barely posts anymore. He's really inactive, but idk if he'll be able to help. I guess I might join for the fun of it so I'll see. grnwink.gif

Well, we haven't officially decided to start it; we wanted to first find out if anyone was interested in it before we started.

If you are a level 48 miner, then you should probably mine coal. grnwink.gif

So what would this be, exactly? "Mine stuff and bank it" is rather vague bluetongue.gif Are we going to use it for profit? For experience? For both? Maybe throw a drop party or something?

Awhile ago, for a few weeks at least, we had a small group that would make and alch bows (Yew Long, I think)... pick the flax, make bowstrings, chop wood, make the bows, string the bows, mine essence, craft natures, and alch the bows. Doing a load of 500 bows a week meant over 750K a week, which we'd split. Depending on the job that's 50K to... I think 150K or 175K for each of us, with around 15K-ish left over. (We set that aside for later -- I think we were going to "throw a drop party or something," as I put it earlier bluetongue.gif)

Everyone made some easy cash, and everyone got exp as well. The same idea could be applied here -- maybe steel or mith plate? It wouldn't be as profity (new word!) as the bowmaking group, but then again its primary purpose could be experience rather than profit.

Ok, Im a lvl 61 miner, willing to mine either coal or mithril (gold is also an option but as I assume we are making in order to smith)

Count me in, as long as I know how much ore / week you want!

No certain number... you can just get as much as you can and keep it in the bank.

And to answer your question, phieta, we could go on mining trips or get-togethers, have occasional drop parties, or just for experiance. Whatever seems good at the time.

Ok, I guess I will start this; I will talk to cspace sometime soon and work out the specifics... it seems like we might get some quality members. grnwink.gif

It didn't die. I still plan to start this but I need to work out all of the details with cspace the next time I talk to him. (He doesn't reply to PMs, so it will have to be on MSN or in the chat.)
