First off, to shed light on a little confusion that has been brought to me, the official positions that were supposed to become available are still coming. The original thread got a bit more attention than I expected though, and the application process kinda got thrown out the window due to so many requesting positions and competition forcing some to desire to go beyond what is realistic. I don't want to turn so many people down who legitimately want to help, and at the same time I don't want to ruin some people's internet "lives" (if you'll call it that) by providing contracts.

So the idea is going to be restructured.

Instead of contracts, there will be certain jobs that can be done on a case-by-case basis. In other words, you see something that is listed or given as a paid request, you do it, you'll receive Gil. Anyone can do these.

Those who have shown themselves to be responsible members and have helped enough with a certain aspect of this may receive distributor positions. These are official positions with unique profile tags (a field that is new; I edited my own profile to show what I'm talking about here), and they have access to distributor accounts which will be supplied with Gil that can be distributed to those who provide services. The admins would determine the normal scale for this (max, min, etc.), and distributors cannot take any of the Gil for themselves from their own distributor accounts (remember that there are logs). As a distributor has his/her position longer, the amount of Gil he/she can control will probably increase gradually.

Distributors would not have to be moderators. In fact, while some may be moderators, I will usually favor those who aren't when giving out these positions (as long as the member has been active and responsible here for a while).

These are possibilities (could be all, some, more, or none)...

- Advertising and/or promotion

- Events and contests

- Submissions to the submission section of our site (guides mostly)

- Event screenshot submissions?

- Any other ideas?

Love the idea and I really like how non-mods can now start to get a more "official" position and help out the community in that manner. I'd enjoy seeing this used and not having to go through busy admins to get gil for events or whatnot. Great idea

First off, Mooman, your sig is waaaaaaay to long (horizontally). You'll need to fix that so there is no horizontal scroll bar. I love the image and everything, it's just too darn big!

Secondly, this is much better way of doing the 'jobs' thing. It should help increase activity quite a bit and will give non-moderators chances at obtaining a position of responsibility. I have a few people in mind who I think would perform well in such a position. I'll also be sure to think up activities and such.

I have to say that I like this idea better than... well, whatever we have now. (And I'm not exactly sure what we have now other than the old RS jobs. ) Pretty much provides a reward for definitely valuable actions that you listed. I'm sure that we can get a think tank (or, just this topic) and think up some other activities. My only question - how to decide the distributors? Not a big issue, but I'm just curious as to how the process should go.

And another thing people could do is make signatures (complete signature requests, making make a new sub-forum for that).
