For all those who do not avidly watch the www.guildwars.com website! There is a timer on the front page counting down to the headstart event (for those that have the pre-order key) and the global opening. I find this easier than calculating time for myself... bluetongue.gif

And according to Anet, Factions has officially shipped... Ebgames confirms this. bluetongue.gif

Also, you'll notice that Anet has been spamming the update list with new information. For those that have not logged on Guild Wars recently, I highly recommend you pop the game open and let it stream to you, as there are some updates.

Directions on how to travel between Tyria and Cantha for the first time has been posted on updates at www.guildwars.com. You'll need it if you want to bring existing characters back and forth. TheSmile.gif

And there are a ton of updates to be read, this is my personal favorite:
Henchmen now sometimes chat during a mission. In outposts, players can talk to henchmen by double-clicking on them.

To nerf: the perceived weakening of a certain ability/skill/item/class/area due to the fact that it was stronger than its original intent by the staff. Most often used in a negative conotation.

So....
They nerfed the entire farming area = drops aren't as great.
They nerfed Mesmers = they reduced their overall power in the game.
They nerfed a skill = made it take longer to use, or more expensive to use, or less effective.
They nerfed the SoA Axe = the super rigged axe is now a normal axe.

Usually creates perceived balance. bluetongue.gif

The need to make Elementalists strong again! And what on earth are area of effect skills good for if they just make the AI run away from them? Honestly, they nerf all the skills so just about 3/4 are worthless.

Things were seriously unbalanced when Eles could just stack on AoE damage as much as they liked. Increasing the AI so that it runs out of the spell area like a player would was a good idea. Irritating when you're playing a class with lots of AoE, but still a good idea.

You may be right that Elementalists could use a bit of balancing, however.
