Being "skinny" isn't that good. o.O So if someone is already skinny, why would they want to become even skinnier? o.O Maybe it's just your wording, but yeah. bluetongue.gif

Losing weight:
- Watch what you eat. This doesn't mean eat less, it means eat smart and healthy. You can still have your candy bar or your ice cream.
- Walk, jog, or run. This will help you lose weight and gain certain muscles, plus running is proven to make you think more clearly and boost your mood. You should try to do this in the morning instead of later in the day.
- Do a brick workout, which means doing more than one event each day. Try running and then swimming, or biking and then running.
- Decrease your intake of salt

Getting stronger:
- Always be safe when using weights. Start with minimal weight and use many repetitions. Then start to add on weight. At first try doing many sets of few repetitions. Once you are comfortable and stronger, do as many repetitions as you can.
- Always do sit-ups or crunches for your abs. I personally do 10 sets of 50 two to three times a day, but starting out you should probably only do around 2-4 sets of 50 once a day. This won't give you a six-pack, you must lose the fat over your abs first. Crunches will do this, but it is mainly genetic. Not all people can have the abs visible, so don't think it isn't working.

I'll answer any questions you might have, I don't feel like making a huge list of things to do to lose weight or gain muscle. There are hundreds if not thousands of ways to do it.

Stay consistent with whatever you're doing to lose weight. It's important to get into the routine. It may seem hard at first, but you'll get used to it. And what Bball said, run. biglaugh.gif I'd advise not running by miles though, try setting a time and running for that long. I'm not sure how long once you start out though, maybe 20-30 minutes?

I have no experience being overweight though. I gain weight during running seasons. icon_sweatdrop.gif It's probably just genetics for me, since I don't stick to a diet or anything.

I do have hope that I can loose alote of weight. My cusens back in egypt used to be realy over weight now they have 6 packs. Also my other cusen used to weigh like 300lb he used to look like a huge beach ball. Now he is like 175lb and is doing realy good.

Also I heard that drinking tons of water a day helps you loose weight. Is that true and how much water? I liketo ride my bike all over the place insted of running. I swet alote but don't get as tierd as in running. Also I never get cramps when I ride my bike. So should I run or ride my bike, or both?

It doesn't help you lose weight, it's just good for you. If you weren't drinking water what else would you be drinking? Probably somethin' with sugar, since that's what is out there to buy. Anyways, I believe the general rule of thumb on drinking water is 8 glasses a day, but as you increase in activity (a.k.a. exercising) then you should drink more water per day.

I don't think you need to LOSE WEIGHT, really, unless you're horribly obiese. In which case, it'd probably be faster to just use a drug or surgery, if it's endangering your life. (Usually does.)

I think you should eat what you want and enjoy what you become. I've never cut foods, I've never gone on diets, my BMI is perfect and average for my height and weight. And all I've got on me for "weight problems" would be a little tummy!

I don't consider myself a muscle man, though. If you want to build muscles, that's always a good idea, but remember to keep doing what you're doing...You can't stop. Also remember that if you're crazy about your weight, Muscle is twice as heavy as fat.

That's just my two-cents, but ah well.

Water does help you lose weight, but it won't produce results on its own. Water is at a lower temperature than your body, so your body burns calories to bring up to your body's temperature, however, this isn't much of a change. What you need to do is burn more calories than you take in, so going on a diet does NOT work unless you excercise.

As for building muscle, you do need to constantly train to keep it on. I find this to be a hobby for me, but for others they don't keep it up and they start to have back and knee problems because they can't handle the weight. Your body fat percentage is a great indicator of whether you need to lose weight or not. For men, I'd say that if you are over 25-30% body fat you need to lose some. For women, I'd say 30-35% is when you need to bring it down. These are for health issues.

Now if you are in the single digits, you are either extremely skinny or all muscle. My body fat is 5%, but you could say I'm a body builder so don't go by that. Most athletic people will have their body fat percent in the teens or even in the single digits. grnwink.gif

I am know excerciseing alote (past month) but not alote of dieting. I have noticed I eat fast food 2-3 times a week (1 or 2 burgers usualy). I saw a movie called "super size me" and will stop eating it. If I have to go there I will try to eat somthin healthy. I have also noticed I eat basicly ever meal with lots of rice. When I dont eat rice I eat pasta or a sandwitch. All of these foods have tonsof carbs in them. So I wont be eating them any more. I will also eat more meats for proteen. I will use some of the excercise info on this page to help me get a full work out. Once the pool opens I will go swimming 5 times a week (if not more). I also ride my bike at least 5 times a week (if not more). I also have found out that I have a free gym next to my house thats about 10min away riding a bike. It is provided by the local church and looks realy good. Every thing I need is there. I will go to that 2 times a week. When summer break comes then 3 timesa week (if not more).

Wait, wait. I seem to recall something about carbs and diets from Health this year. Oh yes! It seems you mustn't totally cut out carbs. They're good for you and your body needs them, or something like that. bluetongue.gif If you need to, reduce the amount you get daily, but don't completely cancel them out from your diet. I guess.
