More like:
$600 for a PS3
$500 for a PoS3 (not just a smaller hard drive -- no WiFi, no HDMI, no card reader)
No, thats not what they said on CNN news.
Thay said that ps3 20gig = 500$ ps3 60gig= 600$.
PS: Rohtaren try quoting the people so no one will get confused next time.

$500 PS3 to lack HDMI, WiFi, card reader -- Engadget
QUOTE
When Sony gave out the specs on the PS3 earlier tonight, the company mentioned that there would be two configurations: a $500 version with a 20GB hard drive and a $600 edition with a 60GB drive. Turns out that was only half the story. Yes, that pricing and storage info is accurate. But it turns out that there are a lot of other things missing from the lower-end (we can't bring ourselves to call a $500 console "cheap") version, besides an extra 40GB of storage. According to the specs released by Sony, the 20GB version will lack WiFi, a memory card reader and, most significantly, HDMI output.
Those who will remember, will speak fondly of the warm morning breeze.

Like Alpha said, after a year those prices will have gone down, probably closer to £450-500 for the 60gb HD one, and the few games i want for it look worth that price.

Why does PS need to come out with PS3? They got 3 other systems already. And PSP came out last year.
