So, yeah. For our end-of-the-year project in Yearbook Graphic Design, we were supposed to make a poster about our time spent in high school. This was mine. Descriptions of stuff:
  • The intro and outtro. I stole them from Cowboy Bebop, yes. Why? Because. "I came to the discovery, upon watching CB a few times, that the 'bebop' mentioned in the title really isn't about the music at all... it's about the way the story of CB is presented. Two to five musicians, jamming and improvising on a particular theme, playing according to the mood of the moment." (I could say something about rebellious teenagers here, but I won't. Figure it out for yourself.)
  • The "Eagle" print. This one, for you guys, requires an explanation. Last year, I made the mistake of taking AP English III with Mrs. Eagle, a teacher known for her ability to distort reality. Some of her students pretend to care, prove that black is white and that George W. Bush is Satan (and therefore doesn't exist, because religion is false and exists only to subjugate women), and get A+s. The rest (unless they drop out early on) end up bitter like me, and eventually taunt her anonymously with articles like "How to Deconstruct Almost Anything." Anyway, towards the end of the school year, we got a Photo project called "What Monterey High Means to Me." Heh, heh, heh. What you see is what I turned in, mostly. I did add myself to it (in Photoshop) to meet one of the requirements of the Poster Project, but the rest was 100% darkroom work done last year in Photo. In other words, I pwn you. (Oh, yeah. Eagle's in room 77. And yes, I did post the sign next to her door bluetongue.gif)
  • "Los Tres Caballeros." The name refers to, well, the three of us (besides Pikachu... who stole my hat...) in that picture. In March, it got freakin' cold here and snowed in nearby Carmel Valley. We went out to take pictures because we're awesome like that. This is the only photo on the poster that doesn't look like a print because... well, just read Mrs. DeLay's quote. <_<
  • "Close-up." Last year, a few of us from school went to Washington, D.C. (I think I posted pics) for a week. This picture was shot in front of the Justices League Headquarters Supreme Court Building.
  • "Geeks." I took this picture at Disneyland earlier this year, and later sepia-toned it in Photoshop. For the requirements of the project, I posterized it as well, but I actually like how it turned out.
  • "WED." WED is, of course, Walter Elias Disney, because he's freakin' cool. The quote is also my senior quote, and the picture is also my senior portrait... minus the "Poster Edges" filter, which was used because, again, the project required us to prove we could do certain things in Photoshop. Blah. But it looks alright.
  • Actually, most of this was done in Photoshop. Obviously the photos were taken with a digital camera (minus the Eagle photo, which was an analog print I scanned), but the rest was 100% Photoshop with no other programs used. Background? Photoshop. Fake Sharpie writing? Photoshop. "Staples" and shadows (more than shadows, actually) on the fake prints? Photoshop. White borders on the 5x7s? Photoshop (actually, they were already there on the Eagle print, but I messed them up while scanning so I just redid them bluetongue.gif). Intro text is "American Typewriter," though I raised and lowered the individual letters by hand and ran it through a filter or two. Outtro text is "Fonce Sans," which I've mentioned before, because it's cool.
  • Uh, I think that's it. <_<

Those who will remember, will speak fondly of the warm morning breeze.
