Da Vinci code and the First Amendment

by my jusgement, the davinci code isn't violating the first ammendment, but it does seem to offend a lot of people.
oh, and responding to what joseph said... i heard a cotholic saying that being a cotholic means going to a cotholic church once a week.. well... what if you are in a place where you would have to miss church because the drive to a church is like 12 hours long

But about Catholics not "Cotholics" is that the reason why they don't want people to watch or read the book is because it's offensive. I've read all the novels of Dan Brown and I'm a Christian, and although I'm Pentecostal, I find the book offensive although it was a great book (but crap ending!)
And church once a week? wow.... that's .. that's... torture.. I don't know about you guys but I love going to church, but that might be because our church services are different, and i won't bother going into details.
Oh my goodness... It doesn't say anywhere that you HAVE to go to church every single Sunday, but if you want to be a Christian or whateva it's good to go along, but it doesn't mean that if u don't u'll be struck by lightning(and God doesn't operate that way either

1. Everyone(most people) loves to bag the church
2. Another reason to disbelief the Bible
3. A way to disturb people's beliefs
And the other fact why Catholics etc, don't want people to read this book because it might shake their foundations in their faith(though nothing should really shake your faith), the start of the Da Vinci code states that all rituals, symbols, sects, and other aspects etc are all true.
This means that a lot of people are instantly going to believe Dan Vrown because he backs up his claims with "fact", although who cares if some "Leanardo Da Vinci" (who by the way wasn't even part of the Catholic church) paint a painting about some "secret cover up", and by the way, the last supper wasn't even set like that, people sat on the ground with a small table. But anyway, enough of all this, I could go through all the parts of the book and tell you how he lies about certain events and prolongs others etc.
But in terms of the First Amendment, it doen't break it because it isn't making a direct attack against anyone in particular, but rather a generalisation, although it is pretty clear and definitly offensive.
And before speaking about a topic, try to at least know a little bit of the background... so that we're not just talking about nonsense..

"I will run... [I will run into your presence]... into your presence,
I will sing.. [I will sing of your love]... Sing Forever,
and I will run.. [I will run to your presence]... into your presence,
I will sing.. [I will sing for your love].. Sing Forever.
Evermore, [I will sing for-]
Evermore [-evermore]
Evermore [I will sing for-]
Evermore [-evermore].."

i also usually go to church unless i don't have access to one, or i'm really sick. i usually like the service too... except for the sermon, unless it is done by a guest, its really boring. guests however, usually put in a little humor. the music is ok too, but i hate how they make us stand up for about 30-40 minutes without anybreaks... my legs get really itchy thats why...
catholics seem to like to sing the entire service... at least at one of the catholic churches i went to in springfield kentucky. the pastor... or whoever he is... i don't really know that stuff, was really nice but he did things pretty oddly. just one experience i've had with the catholics where i live in virginia is that most of them seem to be stuck-up jerks. especially the catholics who go to the private school down the street from my house.
example- my school gts out earlier then they do, so some of my friends and i were LARPing when the got out and were walking past my house. they saw us and began shouting insults and dissing us. of course, my freind had his back turned to me as he was shouting something back, so i took the advantage and attacked him from the back... the catholic kids... right then and there embarassed us both.
infact, i think that that private school does bad things to the student's minds... every single day, somei=one gets hurt badly there... one of my former friends went there and turned into a total jerk. the younger kids who are on the playground as i walk home always gein starring at me like they hate me or something. one of the friends that was with me when the kids embarrassed us had gone there before and said that the teachers were evil and that the hallways, staircases, and rooms seemed evil too. the church that goes along with that school give me the heebijibees every time i walk past it in the night. one of the catholic families down the street from my house... every time i went to have lunch there, i would have my prayer, then they would make me do a catholic prayer as if they thought that i had to be a catholic rather than episcipalian.
right now i'm really just ranting about the local catholics... sorry, i'll stop.

now that i think about what i am saying, i don't think that I or WE should say whether or not one part of christianity or any religion is better than the others. in every culture there is something demonic in it, so you should go with what you think is true, not just the best.

BTW, the catholic church has a 'banned book list'. It's pretty sad when a nice book lands on that list... such as "Where's Waldo".

As far as the Da Vinci Code:
People are not immediately agreeing with everything a preacher tells them! Hooray!

People are instead immediately agreeing with a novel. Not so good.
I have two main questions, though...
1. If the Catholic Church covered up Jesus's baby, wouldn't the church have to do it before Christianity spread at all, which was before the Catholics came into existence?
2. And how are things like Da Vinci painting himself as a woman in the Mona Lisa connected to a Holy Blood line? How does the Mona Lisa connect to Christ anyway?
3. People are like "OMG the Old French expression for the Holy Grail, San gréal, actually is a play on Sang réal, which literally means "royal blood" in Old French!" Well, a lot of languages 'borrow' terms and invent them, causing overlap. Atlantis and Atlanta are similar words, and Georgia once was underwater, maybe THOSE are connected too!
Okay, that's out of my system; but I won't first look at an author without the same amount of disbelief as I do religious leaders.

When they hear that Im a jesus freak?
What will people do
When they find thats its true? ]
Separated, I cut myself clean
From a past that comes back in my darkest of dreams
Been apprehended by a spiritual force
And a grace that replaced all the me Ive divorced
I saw a man with tat on his big fat belly
It wiggled around like marmalade jelly
It took me a while to catch what it said
Cause I had to match the rhythm
Of his belly with my head
jesus saves is what it raved in a typical tattoo green
He stood on a box in the middle of the city
And claimed he had a dream
(chorus)
What will people think
When they hear that Im a jesus freak
What will people do when they find that its true
I dont really care if they label me a jesus freak
There aint no disguising the truth
Kamikaze, my death is gain
Ive been marked by my maker
A peculiar display
The high and lofty, they see me as weak
Cause I wont live and die for the power they seek
There was a man from the desert with naps in his head
The sand that he walked was also his bed
The words that he spoke made the people assume
There wasnt too much left in the upper room
With skins on his back and hair on his face
They thought he was strange by the locusts he ate
The pharisees tripped when they heard him speak
Until the king took the head of this jesus freak
(repeat chorus 2x)
People say Im strange, does it make me a stranger
That my best friend was born in a manger
People say Im strange, does it make me a stranger
That my best friend was born in a manger
(repeat chorus 2x)
What will people think
[what will people think]
What will people do
[what will people do]
I dont really care
[what else can I say]
There aint no disguising the truth
[jesus is the way]
is unconstitutional.
ps:its a great song, i have it on my mp3 player
