The understanding by UFFs that leaders are not "over" others but set the example for others is getting better comprehended now. Good!
Throughout my personal involvement in UFF I sought to set an example in the midst of having received of two undesirable extremes, which are leader worship
and leader bashing 
. How we react to these as leaders test our character.
So, how many times in the past has it been that we have witness leaders rise in UFF, to receive flattery, then after it gets to their head, they start a movement after themselves as they glory in themselves. Eventually they come to nothing but they do some damage along the way. Their betrayals of friendship reap for themselves the same.

Those who are leaders, who do not appear as the foremost of leaders, oftentimes have fallen into the temptation to become a rebel, being fooled by flattery from those who wish only to gain advantage for themselves from someone more influential.
When UFF was started as a clan, I was functioning as the by-example clanleader of UFF while Tetraneon was to do UFF Spy Network. The work of Tetraneon, whom I have continually relied on, had to be by the most trustworthy of UFF members. Time and again there have been those seeking to dissuade him from UFF in rebellion. He never gave in, even once! What he did was to catch and bust the rebels instead.
The odd matter is how some enemies of UFF had the habit of disappearing, never more to rise. I understood from the beginning of UFF that Tetraneon was not going to inform me of everything as he was doing UFF Spy Networking.

Really, sometimes I wondered what exactly has been going on behind the scenes to defend the UFF. Some asked me if they could go into other clans and spy inside them to which I replied that it was against UFF values and they should not do that or else they would not be recognized as UFFs. We uphold our UFF values, truly. I have often told UFFs they should not break UFF values, whether openly or secretly.
Tetraneon says he has not been breaking UFF values at all and I have never found him doing so, but yet still I've wondered how he has pulled off some things.
I have seen a number of ways the UFF Spy Network has operated myself where truly the left hand of UFF did not know what the right hand was doing. It kept the unity of UFF. The multiple reports about troublemakers who never had a clue who ratted on them was somewhat amusing, I must say.

Many UFFs have not registered for any forum but are active. A number of these I know. These are known as UFF Spy Network. The quiet but secret and active UFFs that have helped preserve our unity and fought for freedom. Also I have considered that there are a number of others in Runescape that have been helping also, the extent of which I cannot possibly keep track of.
If you are still wondering why UFF has had the Spy Network, it was because from the foundation of UFF it was determined that enemies would arise, who would not value ethical conduct and may do dirty tactics. This was one of a number of ways UFF would be able to keep the movement going.
But remember always that the ends does not justify the means. We UFFs are bound together by values. We do not break UFF values in order to protect them.
