Greetings, all.

Short version of my RS life: I started playing in late November, 2001 (I have the exact date somewhere -- coincidentally, it was right around when SeeD was formed) but got bored after a few weeks. In July 2002 I came back and started my current character, Phieta. (That's my RS name, yes. Don't ask me for it. It's right in front of you.) Since then I've played off and on, generally playing for hours at a time for a few days, then "going silent" for a few weeks... though I was much more active when my real-life friends played. I became a member a Christmas or two ago. (That's the story from my perspective in the real world -- somewhere, I have the story of my character's life, which I'll rework and post eventually.)

I play from the "have fun with it" approach. I avoid power-training when possible, and I don't play the numbers game (i.e. you will never hear me say "I am higher level than you; therefore, you suck"). I'm always willing to offer free advice (and I admit when I have no clue what I'm talking about); I'm always willing to offer free services (i.e. you give me the materials for an item you can't make, and I'll make it for you -- you "pay" me by letting me get some free experience); I'm rarely willing to offer free stuff (so don't ask).

My membership expired about a month ago, and I won't subscribe again until I have a job and free time to play, so... what can I do in the meantime? Any advice? I'm guessing I'll have trouble banking...

Feel free to say hi if you see me on; unlike most people, I have private chat set to "all." (On the other hand, I have everything else set to "friends," so... meh

)

I'll be on tonight probably... I want to find some time for both games though, partially because of the whole omg-SeeD-abandoned-RS thing. (I have an event or two that I've loosely planned... but... meh.)

Hm... actually, I have like $25 in my change jar (sorted it today); I could just take $7 over to a payphone and buy myself a month of members... nah

But, yeah, what can I do in F2P? I don't want to RC because of the whole "Pure Essence" thing. I suppose I could get a bunch of swordies and go fight stuff...

You could grab an axe and start WCing and firemaking. Oaks are selling like hotcakes now.

Hehe, got a prepaid $50 Visa card for graduation... so after I return home on the... 27th, I think, I'll go ahead and buy myself a month.
