When they got outside, they found a barrier fifty or so feet away. They see Edger lying under a tree, apparently sleeping. They headed over and attempted to wake him.

The death of rats appeared in middair by Edgar, he swung his sythe near the sleeping man, there was a squeak and the soul of a wild mouse floated past.

"That seems to have worked...." Dalkindaran said. He threw his staff at the barrier and jumped. Instead of what happened when Edger jumped through there was a deafening crack and a blast of light. When the light faded Dalkindaran was gone and at the place where the place he had jumped through the barrier there was a swirling, multicolored portal. Carlana yelled, "Dalkindaran!!!!" She ran to his staff and jumped into the portal. Andrew grabbed Edgers tunic and pushed him into the portal. He jumped in seconds later. Khandarin followed shortly.
