Story:
Yeah... there's mother{expletive ninja'd by Cspace}in' sharks in our mother{expletive ninja'd by Cspace}in' aquarium. That's nothing new, actually, but now we have a ("great") white shark. Again.
I say "again" because we had one before. That one caused so much of a media fuss that when this one showed up, they ("they" being the higher-ups at the Aquarium) didn't just avoid telling the press — they avoided telling us ("us" being the friendly happy people who work there for free).
So they put him ("him" being the new Great White) on exhibit without any fanfare Thursday night after closing, which probably surprised Friday's shifts.
Today the white shark made the front page of the local newspaper.
Today is also the beginning of Labor Day weekend.
Today is also also the last day one of our temporary exhibits, the conveniently-related "Sharks: Myth and Mystery," will be open.
Today's shifts have several people who will not be showing up and did not get substitutes. Woo and yay!
Anyhoo, I decided I'd be nice and fill in for some random missing person today. Also, while wandering through apartment buildings at ~6:30 this morning (my other job, which actually gives me a small amount of cashy-money), I thought "Hm... 'snakes on a plane' kinda sounds like 'sharks in tank.'"
So now you know... the rest of the story.
(If any of that made sense to you, congratulations. You've out-comprehended me.
