Here is an old manor, run down and broken. It was once the home of the Von Lictenstine's, but it has long since decayed and been near destroyed. Much of the outside of the manor has scorch marks on it, along with several other signs of damage from the elements. Either Mother Nature decided to target this building, or a wizard of some sort attacked it.

The front door looks securely closed and locked, but it is possible that the wood has rotted to the point it could easily be destroyed with a simple kick.

Neraphym arrives on the scene and makes his way to the main door.

"This must be the place..."

Neraphym tries to enter, but the door is shut firmly. He gives it a good kick, and the doors are thrown open. Neraphym makes his way beyond the threshold.

The first room is long and spacious, with light shining in from several wide windows that stood far up, near the ceiling. At the end is a majestic staircase that meets the wall, and splits into two walkways going left and right, which leads to two marble arched doorways.. Wide colums line the walls, meeting with a lower ceiling that then curved upwards to a ceiling that featured clouds, angels, and a large compass rose in the middle, pointing North in some direction to the right.

Everything is, of course, in a horrid state or disrepair and covered in a thick layer of dust. There are also broken pieces of ruined furniture strewn about randomly, quite a bit of it blackened by a fire or something of the like. It would also be noticed that several parts of the actual room are scorched as well, like that column over there, and that piece of the guardrail on the staircase...

This doorway branches into another hallway, which goes both left and right. However, the one on the right has caved in. To the left, you can see an open doorway a bit down the hall...

This seems to be a treasury of a sort! Over there against the wall is a long, gilded sword; a long, sinuously twisting black staff was propped up against another wall; and along the walls of the room are numerous treasure chests. Some money seems to be spilled across the floor. This place probably held much more, but it must have been ransacked or something.

Neraphym appraoches the sword. He admires the craftsmanship, running his hands along the length of the blade. He attempts to take the sword from its rest to better examine it.

You pick up the weapon, and find it to be slightly heavier than you would have thought. It seems cold to the touch, as if it had been left outside in the snow for a few days, though... Perhaps not that kind of coldness. It was more a dull, throbbing cold.

After quite a bit of looking, you see an inscription on the blade. 'Azurewrath', it says. You recognize this name as a weapon almost legendary, that was once wielded by Oric Von Lictenstine. You wonder why he no longer hold it, considering the strength of the weapon. You also wonder why it does not glow in your hands, as it did in his.

Disappointed, Neraphym returns the sword to its original resting place and wonders over to the staff. He senses a strange darkness about the staff. His curiosity fully arroused, he picks up the twisted staff.

The staff seems to either be a highly polished wood or a shining metal. The odd thing is is that this item is also cold to the touch. It seems to give off the slightest purpleish glow, and you feel the thoughts in your head changing, taking on a much, well, darker view. The staff seems to be talking to you, but you believe that the thoughts going through your head are all your own. After all, it seems perfectly rational that one part of your mind would suddenly decided it hated Aderon, all other Aphorites, and practically everyone you know. It doesn't seem the slightest bit odd that a piece of you would want to murder Rhesal, Reikin, Oric, and hundreds others. It would take a few minutes, but if you tried, you would have found that you could subdue that other part of you and be in complete control.

During all this, one would feel a great sense of power coming from the weapon. You can find no inscription, and can find no reason why Oric would own such an item.
