The New Class System (Preview)

The description of how this works is a little bit rough, and I'm sorry for any confusion. I plan to include a better guide later, but you can probably figure out what's going on anyway. I included most of the planned classes (all but one without trees online), although there are a few that I didn't list yet because they're still being worked out. Note that every class that exists now will be incorporated in some way, and that a few have new titles.

I set up one class to display on the site for preview purposes: The starter class for the "Earthian" tree called Adventurer. It's the first class listed and there's a link that you can click to see it.

Anyway, I thought that I'd show everyone what is being done. thumb.gif

Just keep in mind that what I have there is not final, and changes could be made if needed for balancing.



Addition:

"Basic" and "Adept" are common in the titles of the Adventurer blocks, but they are not official terms and won't appear much in other trees. The Adventurer tree is in many ways the "learner" tree, and is geared around introductions to later concentrations.

Oh yeah, and while the system is not finished and characters can't officially work up the trees, feel free to use the system to fight in the colosseum. bluetongue.gif

It could work with hypothetical characters, and could be interesting when some higher tiers are online. Perhaps GMs could make up conditions, like every character can have a specific number of points to spend and everyone chooses what they think is the most potent skill set. Could also help with balancing to see the system in action.

Our profiles are convoluted and rather disorganised, and with the introduction of this new class system, it looks like it will become even more so. Will you be helping with the profiling of the characters once this is finished?

Hmm, perhaps a default layout could be worked out as a reference. It could probably be neatly done with big headers, bulleted lists, and whitespace put in the right places. I'm open to suggestions though

I've spent a great deal of time and effort into effectively organizing my character profile. I must say, I did a darn good job at it. If there was a forum to fill out, or something, it might work better.
