If animals wanted us to know about them they would come out. And animals die, like humans, it's the way things are. I don't like him because the way he plays with snakes or crocodiles and all of those poor,animals. That would be like me holding a lollipop out of reach for a small child.

He captured animals that were injured or in threatening situations. If a crocodile were in a public place for example, it's probably going to be hurt or killed by someone (or hurt a person) if it's not taken elsewhere. If an animal were injured, it would be captured and brought back to health, then let back into the wild if it can live on its own. These animals that were captured are displayed in his shows, and he tries to educate people about them as well as bring about some appreciation for them.

I'm not trying to seem intelligent, but I liked the guy, as did many others. It's one thing to be indifferent, but to tell everyone that you're glad he's dead is a big step.

Cspace sorry I said that, it was immature, but I really loathe Steve Irwin. It was fine when he was alive because NOBODY cared. But now that he is dead everyone is saying,"Omg! I miss him! He's great! Oh Yeah!11111111" And it is so annoying.

He did that stuff because he cared. He grew up with animals and saving and playing with them. If you hate the fact that he played with them, then you should hate the people and poachers who kill them even more. I'm sure you'd have something worth dying for. The fact that he risked his life to educate people about these animals and founded a way to perserve nature is nothing short of amazing. I respect Steve Irwin and may he Rest in Peace. I wish the best for his two kids, wife, his dad, and his closest friends.

There different ways of 'knowing' someone other than actually talking with them daily and such. Look at JFK's assassination. Thousands of people mourned his loss, yet the majority of course didn't know him personally. Steve Irwin had his own show (and other specials), and he connected with his viewers. That's why so many people mourn the loss of him, plus he's out there trying to help animals as Cspace said.

First of all, nobody cared about any of the presidents until they died. I happen to know this, using several notes from back in the day and a time machine. But people seem to live in the now and when a icon dies they start thinking about death and they get all said and start a whole R.I.P. _____ trend. Really, it's gay.

I'm sure people cared a lot about George Washington when he became the first president, when Thomas Jefferson expanded the U.S. with the Louisiana Purchase, when Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves from the south and ended a civil war that cost 200,00+ American lives, when Theodore Roosovelt proved that America can do what no one could by building and expanded the Panama Canal, when John F. Kennedy brought hopes to America by launching the space program and racing a communist Russia to the moon and solving the Cuban Missle Crisis.
