or you could just use limewire, kazaa, torrents etc like everyone else ;\
I must admite I was gunna do that but I won't. Paying $1 a song is safer pluse if they where free I would be downloading like crazy and my computer would run realy slow :/.

Kazza = satan
Limewire = hitler
torrents = good
Do YOU want to be a satanazi?
Seriously, limewire & kazaa arent very safe. I like torrents better anyways b/c it dosent tie up system resources like crazy
Yeah, Kazaa was horrible. Limewire is ok, but I did get a minor virus from it. I know why though, it was a stupid move

Limewire is simply one of one of many clients for Gnutella... so spyware isn't really an issue; you can use other clients and access the same network. :-\
Kazaa... stay away from it. Far, far away. I used to recommend Kazaa Lite instead of Kazaa, but it doesn't exist anymore. Anyhoo, Kazaa is like a public restroom at an Interstate rest area. Avoid it at all costs.
Bittorrent is the way to go. Infected/spoofed files usually aren't a problem (older and well-seeded torrents tend to be legit), and you can find all but the most obscure stuff on the larger torrent sites. Client-wise, the official one will do the job in most cases. I recommend Azureus though.
iTunes isBogus
(Downloading copyrighted works is probably illegal depending on where you live, yadda yadda yadda. If you download something and you don't like it, delete it. If you download something and you DO like it, buy a legal — lightly used, preferably — copy of the CD. Illegal is not the same as immoral.)

Those who will remember, will speak fondly of the warm morning breeze.

Use Limewire,DC ++ or torrents.
Your comp wont run slower if you have dowloaded songs.
