I don't really consider this another name change since what he ended up with wasn't what he intended. I can't reset it to give another name change or to change it back, but I can fix it so it looks the way you intended. There isn't any way for someone to know that (.tm.) doesn't work without knowing that it isn't parsed in a name as it is in posts.
The easiest way to be sure is just to find and copy the character into the name. For example, one can copy and paste ™ without entering the tag.
I can't do this every time, but there was nothing said about it before, so no worries.
