What is a good free video maker

So... good, free, and easy to use? You won't find all three.
If you have Windows XP, you can use Windows Movie Maker, which is about as far as you can get from "good." If you have a newish Mac, you can use iMovie, which is only slightly better.
AviSynth will work — it's good and free — but it's definitely not easy to use. It's given me headaches.
It's also very abstract to use, as you control everything by writing scripts. And I do mean everything.
Adobe Premiere is pretty good, but it's expensive. On the Mac front I've heard good things about Final Cut Pro.
Also, all of these are just for editing your clips. You still need something to capture said clips, which is where the suggested FRAPS/Hypercam/Gamecam would come in. I've never used any of those, so I can't recommend them.

Sony is actuly not bad. All of there products last for a very long time and have veiw problems lime my sony comp.
