so North Korea says that it's finally detonated one of its nuclear bombs, and around the world seismic vibrations have been detected (Richter scale reading of about 3.5, depending on which source). there are speculations that it might not even have been a nuclear blast, but the consensus seems to be that it was a nuclear weapon of a small payload. in any case, matters are escalating, with some members of the United Nations Security Council considering military action.
your thoughts?
P.S. please refrain from posting garbage like "LAWLZ SOUTH KOREA AND JAPAN ARE FOCKED!"... we know the situation is bad.

I don't think North Korea is too much of a threat to the international community right now. If things don't change, they will become very dangerous. Sanctions don't do anything, they are just little "slaps on the hand." If they still don't want to use military action, they should stop importing food into the country for a while. That would get them to back down.

Last I heard, just about everyone was pissed at NK for doing this. The SA forums have a 27 page long topic about it.
But yeah. It doesn't sound good. At all.
But one of the nations provide NK with like.. 80% of its food and electricity. All they'd have to do is cut that to make them come to their senses.

Overwhelmed as one would be, placed in my position.

You would think that... but if Dear Leader says everything is alright, then everything is alright.

Not a lot of people are liking the idea of N. korea building nuclear weapons. I heard that they dont have a lot of money to fund this kind of research, but rather than build weapons of mass destruction, why not try to further your technological and scientific fields, rather than using what little resources you have for weapons of mass destruction? Wouldnt it be better to try and use the resources you have to improve your country, what happens when you have a nuke. You threaten other countries and maybe bully them into giving up their resources to you? I just dont understand why North Korea is so hellbent on building a nuke. Imagine what would happen afterwards when guys like Britian, Australia, Japan, Taiwan, China and Russia are at North Korea's throat, saying stand down. Sadly our idiotic president will probably be spearheading and going into North Korea. Like usual, he will have his head so far up his you know what that he can actually see the moon.
I'm all for world peace and keeping our country safe, but this tyrade of saying that these countries are the axis powers is going overboard. Ranging from the illegal wire tappings to throwing the economy into the toilet. Yeah, we have the world's greatest leader...
Where is the blue pill where we can get out of the rabbit hole? This dream is going on too long.
