Team A:
Groban
Luco^â„¢

Team B:

Volunteer A:

Volunteer B:

***************************
If you want to tag someone, you must trade with that person.

When playing tag A, type in "/sit" when frozen, to make it easier to see who is frozen. Also, the taggers must add each other and form a team, making each of them appear dark blue on the map.

When playing tag B, type into local chat "TAGGED", when you are tagged (I know that's blatantly obvious bluetongue.gif). Again, the taggers must form a team so that they appear dark blue on the map. If/when the taggers' team becomes full, another should be made.

***************************

Here's a break down of what will happen:

00:00-00:15 GMT: "Tag A", Team A
00:15-00:30 GMT: "Tag B", Volunteer A
00:30-00:45 GMT: "Tag A", Team B
00:45-01:00 GMT: "Tag B", Volunteer B

At the end we'll take some screenshots and update the gallery.

Rules for "Tag A":
QUOTE(Groban @ Oct 19 2006, 03:05 PM) {lang:macro__view_post}

The group of people who are "it" must try and get the whole of the opposing team frozen in 15 minutes, and must work together to stop the frozen people from being tagged free to win.

The group of people who aren't "it" must try not to get tagged and attempt to free the frozen people.

Rules for "Tag B":
One person starts off 'it' and whenever they tag someone else, that person is also "it". The last surviving person becomes the winner of that game. People who have been tagged are required to state in chat that they have been tagged.

***********************

I've been wanting to hold an event for a while now on Guild Wars. The timezones should ease up soon, so it's the perfect time to hold an event.

Date: Friday 17th November

Here are the times:
19:00 EST
00:00 GMT
11:00 Melbourne, Australia
13:00 New Zealand

It will take place in the guild hall

It should take a minimum of one hour, but if you can stay longer, then you're more than welcome too TheSmile.gif We'll play tag during this hour, and then I'd like us all to get together for some photo's at the end, so we can update our gallery biglaugh.gif

Ok, now for the rules. I don't know how you guys say it in America and Australia, but whenever I say someone is "it", I mean the person who has to tag another person bluetongue.gif

If we get more than 10 people, we can play games where more than one person is "it". When someone is tagged, then that person freezes and cannot move until someone else who isn't "it" comes along and tags them free.

The group of people who are "it" must try and get the whole of the opposing team frozen in 15 minutes, and must work together to stop the frozen people from being tagged free to win.

The group of people who aren't "it" must try not to get tagged and attempt to free the frozen people.

The group of people who are "it" will change every 15 minutes. I know this is unlikely, but if we could get over 30 people to turn up, we could have a game where the officers can be "it" bluetongue.gif

If not enough people turn up, then we'll just go for an ordinary game of tag, where one person is "it", and whoever s/he tags will become "it". Once someone is tagged, that person must remain frozen for 5 seconds and then attempt to tag someone.

I have a 10 hour/14 day access key, for those who don't own Guild Wars. As long as you meet the system requirements, you can PM me and I'll give you the access key. I only have one, so the first person to PM me gets it. You can then use the remaining time to do anything you want bluetongue.gif

The requirements are:
QUOTE
Minimum System Specs:

* Windows XP/2000/ME/98
* Intel Pentium III 800 Mhz or equivalent
* 256 MB RAM
* CD-ROM Drive
* 2 GB Available HDD Space
* ATI Radeon 8500 or GeForce 3 or 4 MX Series Video Card with 32MB of VRAM
* 16-bit Sound Card
* Internet connection
* Keyboard and mouse

Recommended System Specs:

* Windows XP/2000/ME/98
* Intel Pentium III 1GHz or equivalent
* 512 MB RAM
* CD-ROM Drive
* 2 GB Available HDD Space
* ATI Radeon 9000 or GeForce 4 Ti Series Video Card with 64MB of VRAM
* 16-bit Sound Card
* Internet connection
* Keyboard and mouse

Also, a week or so before the event, if a mod could put this up on the announcement, then that'd be great.

I hope to see you all there!

Oh, nearly forgot, but feedback would be nice bluetongue.gif

November 17. It's in the topic description; took me a moment to find it too bluetongue.gif
Those who will remember, will speak fondly of the warm morning breeze.

I edited in the date to the post itself, just to simplify things a little. Hope you don't mind. bluetongue.gif

Sounds good, I should be able to go. I'm busy the night before and might be up pretty late, but I should hopefully be up and about by 11 to join in. grnwink.gif

Oh, and not trying to tell you the best way to run your event, but just for the sake of more ideas... When we've played it in the past, one person starts off 'it' and whenever they tag someone else, that person is also it, so you slowly get more and more people who are it. The last surviving person becomes the winner of that game. It requires people to state openly in chat if they've been tagged, but it opens up some teamwork-related tactics (trying to cut the last few people off from different directions, etc.) and helps ensure the games are reasonably quick. We had a lot of fun playing that back in the Nomads Isle, our newer GH should be quite good for it too. I'm sure it'll be fun no matter how we play the game, and we can always try a few different variants to see which is more fun to play.

I don't mind at all bluetongue.gif

That sounds like a great way of playing tag. We should definitely try that out. Saying that, if anyone else has any ideas, it'd be great to try them out too TheSmile.gif

Awesome to here more people are getting Guild Wars too! Luco, you're getting it right on time, because we all get to access the Boardwalk area this weekend, which is in Shing Jea Monastery, and that's where you start off bluetongue.gif. I recommend you try out the Dragon Arena. I tried it a few months back and it was great

Yep, that's how we did it before.

Oh, and, I might as well state that I (at this time) won't be coming to this event.. Wouldn't want to make it unfair to the rest of you icon_sweatdrop.gif

Aww, ok Maxi. It'll be a shame you can't make it sad.gif. I'll see if I can hold other events to make up for the one you will have missed thumb.gif

For this tag event, I was thinking of allowing people to use Red Bean Cakes. It allows that person to move 25% or 33% faster for 5 minutes. I have many from the last Dragon festival, so I could hand one over to each person who attends the event. Then that person can use them anytime in the event s/he wants. What do you guys think? It could add a little more spice to the game bluetongue.gif
