Also, regarding Christians who throw most of the New Testament out the window: listen to "What Have We Become?" by dc Talk, or at least read the lyrics.
Let's see... parents/church... whoa. I don't know the whole situation, but I definitely do not envy you. If my parents were to sit me down to be talked at about how things that are out of my control are not only my choices but also eeeeevil faults... just... wow. I would get the hell away as soon as I could.
Banning abortion outright = bad. I'm still undecided on the abortion issue as a whole, but in cases of rape or incest (as you mentioned) or when the mother is at risk, it should be an option.
Banning gay marraige = bad. It's not just about the "title" of marraige and equality in that respect — there are legal benefits that come with marraige and are banned to same-sex couples as a result. (Besides, it's not like the church needs to get involved. As things currently stand, legal marraige and ceremonial marraige are entirely separate. You can be married by the church without being legally married; you can be legally married without any real ceremony (religious or non) at all. My idea? "Civil unions" for all couples, with all the rights currently granted via legal marraige. Leave the term "marraige" to ceremonial use. Everyone's happy.)
Banning stem-cell research = bad. Firstly, fetuses aren't the only source of stem-cells. Secondly... actually, I'll leave you to connect the dots. "ORGAN DONOR."
Homophobia = bad. It's also a misnomer. Homophobia is the fear of homosexuals. That which is usually labeled "homophobia" is closer to discrimination, prejudice, or hatred than fear. Anyway, non-heterosexuals are people too, as the saying goes. Live and let live. To the "I'm fine with them; I don't like what they do" set: if this were true, you wouldn't be complaining about them doing things that harm you in no way, shape, or form. You're making excuses.
I still disagree with Freud; "abnormal" implies a problem.
Separation of church and state... yeah, Hyper nailed it. A strict constructionalist would say that Congress doesn't have the power to make laws endorsing a particular religion or restricting individuals from practicing the religion of their choice, but the general interpretation that's been accepted is that religion should be kept out of the government entirely.
Snowy — ...wow. That is ridiculously screwed up, what she did.
Maxi — I believe the closest the Bible comes to mentioning homosexuality is "you shall not lay with a man as you lay with a woman; it is abomination." (or something along those lines). The meaning varies wildly depending on translation, interpretation, and consideration of historical and cultural contexts. The other big argument relates to "be fruitful and multiply," which same-sex couples can't do, though I figure we have a little too much multiplication going on already... adoption yay.
Snowy again — The simple reason? Hawt guy-on-guy action doesn't turn most straight guys on. Hawt girl-on-girl action does.

Honestly, Ruckus I think your just going through a phase in life, like we all do. In the end things will hopefully work out for you and you will find yourself. I mean yeah, I feel for you, but honestly you should not try to suppress who you are. But at the same time it's entirely up to your own discretion what you do. I have met people and have friends who are bisexual and gay. Are they different from anyone else? No, but you shouldn't judge a person based upon their sexual orientation. But hey, whatever works out for you.

Alright guys and girls, I -really- need to get this off my chest. I don't care if people move it, as long as they don't close it (unless a flame fest starts) or delete it; it would mean a LOT to me if you people, my dear brothers and sisters for so long, would stand beside me and listen to my jargon. I don't mind your own views, just please don't direct them at me or else I'll feel obliged to respond with hostility.
If you're Catholic, immature, or just plain young, I must request that you not read this. If you are, but still read it, don't reply, or just don't give me any flak at all. I'm trying to keep it PG-13.
For those of you who don't know me, I'm Ruckus. Uncle Ruckus to a few real life friends, Ruckus Fox to others, Or simply good ol' Ruckus. I'm a furre fan. I'm also bisexual, and submissive, not many people know it here in the real world, I've decided to tell my friends near graduation, that way I can still enjoy Highschool incase they decide to shun me. e.e What this means is that I like girls AND guys, for simple reasons. I probably have a 40/60 ratio with girls and guys respectively. When you get to know me, I'm quite the feminine being. What's submissive? Well. There are two roles in a relationship, actually, you might just not know them. Dominants and Submissives. Doms regularily play the role of the Male and Submissives play the role of the female--ALWAYS--No exceptions unless stated.
Now to the rant. Oh yes, the rant! Let's start it off then!
Church: I'm sorry, Catholic people, but I hate your Religion. I've read your bible, and I don't see eye to eye on everything. Now that's okay, we can still live in harmony, can't we? No. I'll explain why.
I like religions that don't shove it down your throat. But when people get to the point of condemning me for doing something I do, it gets me to a point where I am disgusted in Christianity. A quote I once heard,
"I hate your Christians, I love your Christ. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."
My old church force-fed it. I like churched that hand it out, but don't FORCE you to convert. That's what it's supposed to be like.
My mum belongs to a Catholic Church. That same church is FORCING ME TO ATTEND MASS AGAINST MY FREE WILL TO TRY TO RECRUIT ME FOR THEIR FAITH! It's brainwashing, in short. They already had a flick on Abortion and they'll have one on gay marriage later. Try as I might to get out of this, my mum -really- wants to me try to do my best. So every week, I put on my coat and go out the door with the most depressed attitude I've ever had, driving for the church on the hill. They have actively ATTACKED my beliefs and my life style lately...Let me explain.
South Dakota: This is where I live...We're all rednecks, 'cept me and my friends, we're all computer geeks. These yoinkles barely even try to understand why anyone would want to be gay, bi, etc. And soon, we're having a vote on whether Abortion should be illegal. YES! THAT'S RIGHT KIDS! THE CHURCH IS GOING POLITICAL! This is not good. Churches are meant to sit there, smile, and pass around the donation basket, not meddle with our affairs. This amendment would also mean that ALL FORMS OF ABORTION ARE ILLEGAL, EVEN IN RAPE CASES AND INCEST! This is -not- right.
Same here. I'm in school right now in a room full of computer illiterate jocks who don't know a shift key from caps lock. I'm in the middle of redneck town too, mate, but not to that extent.
They also want to stand behind Bush and say "Yes! Yes! Ban gay marriages, Bush! Make the little faggots burn!" You people disgust me. How do you call yourselves the children of god? He is no god of mine if he makes those judgements so quickly and hastily...What a near-sighted god it would be.
Stem-Cell Research: Okay...we already talked about Abortion, and now we have an aborted fetus. What to do with it?...Well....We could throw it away, put it in a casket and be all emotional about something that we didn't want in the first place, or--GASP!--We could do something logical and have it donated to Stem Cell Research so they can hopefully find cures for new diseases. Some of those cells you're throwing away right now could mean the cure for cancer. I know you bible thumpers are going to kill me after this one--but it's essentially just "Recycling." Yeah. You heard me. It's recycling. By technical dictionary definition, you're taking something that no longer has ANY use, and making it useful by trying to find cures. I'm going to leave that one alone before the hate mail pokes my eye out.
Homophoebia: Okay, I don't know what I, or any other same-sex loving being ever did to you, but why do you hate us? I don't want to hear "It's not natural"--How do you know that? Natural actions come from instinct. If it's natural to like girls and ONLY girls, why haven't I changed? And why hasn't adaptation moved me? I 'unno. Maybe because it's NOT NATURAL!
That made me laugh. And I'm so glad you said it. People that hate others need to be shot. In the face. You know for a fact I don't hate you, Ruckus. Because you haven't done anything worth hating. Which is a shame because many people don't understand this concept of "Don't hate unless you have a reason to hate, and even then, don't do it."
I think the only thing I hate more than people that are biased against gays are people who don't mind gays, but are biased against their 'actions.' Gee, sorry little Timmy, I didn't know that you're allergic to butt sex, I'll go call the "waaah-mbulance" to come and pick you up, 'kay? Grow a pair, be mature about it, realize that people won't change just for you.
You can't step up onto a platform and say "WORLD! BOW TO ME!" Heck, Brooklyners would cuss you out in a eleven hundred different ways for making that demand; wonderful place, Brooklyn, very angry, but nice in their own way...
I'm going to stop here. It's about time that I left. I'm going to be quiet and simply ignore the hate mail that flows in. If you want to talk to me WITHOUT me ignoring you, it'll have to be directly through IM's, I'll delete all the rest.
I just want you people to reflect, learn from what I am troubled with, and formulate your own opinions. You live in America (most of you anyway...) where free speech and free mindfulness are your rights! Don't EVER let some guy at an alter mumbling a dead language ever tell you what you HAVE to be or what you HAVE to do.
I'm going to end with some rather nice quotes so that you can calm down and reflect. Typing this has helped, and, I hope that the mod-team will respect my choice and not touch this unless a flame fest breaks out.
Call me a fag, queer, whatever, I'm free.
The army gave me a medal for killing a man, and a discharge for loving one

--British Youth Speaker
Regardless, I'm at school now. I'll be able to do more later. But good show in expressing it Ruckus, God knows you have some soapbox time coming. Next time someone says something to you, give 'em the royal oak treatment.
"I'm going to get up on this oak stump, bend over, and you can kiss my..." Yes. I do that all the time here. <3.
Keep smilin', buddy.
Such a heavy burden now to be "The One".

._. Y'know, I wasn't in the understanding that he wants a religion. And, if I may, the fact that he's complaining about being forced kind of tells us he can't exactly get the chance to decide for himself.

Aanywaay, I'm a Christian and all (Methodist), but there are a lot of my "fellow people" who I really dislike. I guess I'm more logical than they are. Plus, I hate xenophobes of all types. As far as I'm concerned, hellfire and brimstone and GAYZ ARE BAD sermons are crap. (As a side note, the Bible never speaks about homosexuality that I know of. "Immoral sex," yes, but that can mean a lot of things.)
If you don't like what they're telling you at church, I suggest not going, or at least not listen, which you seem to already be doing. Fear, guilt, anger, and manipulating religious text are easy ways to control people.
I, er, never knew you were bisexual and into the tails and stuff, but, truthfully, I don't care that much. I... don't bother with people's private lives. You're not raping/murdering/eating people, which makes you better than many.
Well, I haven't contributed anything, but... Oh, well.

Moving on, I just say you do what you think is right. As long as whatever you do, doesn't break the law, harm anyone or anything, and will not put them in harm's way. So whatever, you do what you want.

@ Elven: I appreciate your trying to help; Thanks, but no thanks. If I wanted a lecture on what's a phase and what's not, I'd go to Wikipedia. If I were going through a phase, I'd dress in black, bleach my skin, start cutting myself, and listen to hard metal emo music. No. I simply like guys a little more than I like girls, deal.
@ Mike: Thanks mate.
@ Bes and Maxi: Yeah, Maxi nailed it on the head. If I wanted a religion, I would change. "I hate religion, but I believe in God." There -is- a higher being out there, I'm sure, but this is -not- the way he wants us to praise him, if he even wants praise at all. It sort of falls into hand with my belief on cats and dogs...
A dog will say:
"He loves me. He feeds me. He puts a roof over my head. He must be God!"
A cat will say:
"He loves me. He feeds me. He puts a roof over my head...-I- must be God!"
You can interpret God in so many ways. No. I don't want a new church for the simple reason that I was raised in a way where Church was not enjoyable, I simply cannot look at a church and say "Oh boy! It's Sunday! Time to see the old gang again!" like my friend Jeremy can, he belongs to the "First Church of the Nazarine." Protestant, I dunno. Point is, I can't enjoy a place like church, and I'm not going to shoot myself in the foot by pretending that I can.
@ Ziggy: Yeah. Been a while. I'm most definately bi, I tend to chat it up and flirt with other guys from time to time, no shame in that, some of them being SeeD members that I know and hold dearly to myself. If you couldn't tell I was a furry fan then...
@ Zanis: Elven is mostly correct. PAGAN ROMAN CATHOLICISM is possibly the oldest religion of it's time. If I did this back in the day, I would have been burned at the stake. I think it is good to question your religion, but not to go overboard by fighting fire with fire. Being patient and simply ignoring the Catholic Faith works at some junctures. But as we all know, some evils must be confronted. (No pun in intended, or offense, just stating that an opponent must be faced)
I guess that clears it up. If anyone wants to respond, I'll respond in kind until this fades. Thanks Mod and Admin team for watching this and keeping it up. It means a lot to me--Don't think I wasn't watching you.

You should publish that or something. That's a truly perfect explanation. Kudos!
