Just a thought.

There's a reason Christianity is dieing in Europe, of all places, and all the previous posts are just evidence of that fact. Islam, on the other hand, is on the rise in Europe, probably because they aren't the "stuff it in your face and down your throat" type. I'm still bordering on Islam/atheism, so I label myself as an agnostic currently.

On Gays: I couldn't care less as to what they do. Its their choice, and who am I to stop them?
And now we have the quote of the day, from greenl2l: PLONGED!!!

You should try a new type of cristian.
PS: Visit a local comptic orthadox church just google it.
Also do not think that Cathlics are the only type of christian out there.

._. Y'know, I wasn't in the understanding that he wants a religion. And, if I may, the fact that he's complaining about being forced kind of tells us he can't exactly get the chance to decide for himself.

Well maybe he does!

No, Christianity is dying because non-believers can't be executed anymore. Just had to say that. bluetongue.gif

I kinda forgot the stem-cell part, so I'll go ahead a put in my two cents. I just don't feel a bundle of stem cells counts as a baby. :/ I mean, it has no body functions or anything, besides dividing. Bacteria divide but we don't worry about them, soo... I'm for research. Embryos aren't the only source anyway.

I always found it funny how people say souls are there at conception. Makes me think that the sperm and egg must hold half a soul, or God has an assembly line of baby souls waiting for people to have secks. No offence to anyone, of course.

I'm not going to talk about abortion. At least not now.

@ Ruckus @ me: Sorry, I don't pick up on these things. bluetongue.gif

One of the many things that about Christianity and the Bible is it is left up to interpretation by each person. If anything, a person should accept Christ of their own free will. Not using a religion for politics or foreign affairs. To heck with trying to force feed someone the ideal that Christ is the answer. Let a person choose what they want to believe. But if a person does choose a religion, none of this halfway, "I will choose this and this to believe in, but throw out that and that." A person is either into the religion or their not. Being selective about believing what you want to believe when it comes to a religion is not my idea of a religion. For me it's kind of an all or nothing thing. But that doesnt make me any better than anyone else because I believe it's an all or nothing kind of thing.

But if everything is left up to interpretation, can't you just "throw out" the parts you don't like by interpreting them in ways you do like?
Those who will remember, will speak fondly of the warm morning breeze.

You could Sparrow, but my point I am trying to make is that it would be better to accept all of the religion then taking the parts you like and throwing out the things you dont like. But to each their own.

That said though, embracing a religion does not necessarily mean you have to agree with 100% of the interpretations from your religion of choice, as I'm sure you're aware Elven.

Sorry to hear you've been going through a rough time, though. We haven't had a lot to do with each other, but I'm pretty sure you've got the strength of character to get you through this.

Yeah...My church believes that aborting a fetus isn't fair because it 'doesn't have the will to agree or object', because it doesn't have consent. Y'know what? That's a little hypocritical! I sure as hell didn't have CONSENT when those idgits baptised me either...Feh. Hypocrisy and my church shall always be best of friends, like Hitler was to Stalin; with an ironic twist.
