When making a post, it has been decided that a format has to be followed, and here it is.

First off state the title and the platform (pc, gc, snes, etc.), the age group you would think this game is best for (i.e. 10-15), the game type (i.e. role playing game). Add the publisher and the game developer too. And after that it is pretty much all up to you. However we must implement some guidelines.

Proper English and spelling is a must. Were not saying that we want you to turn out stuff like “once I acquired this so called ‘video game’ through a monetary transaction…” we just don’t want stuff like “yeah, dis iz dah sh*t man!! It rulz.” Keep it as clean as you can, and avoid slang and abbreviations. i.e. don’t say RPG, say role playing game.

Make sure that you hit the main points and stay away from loving a game just because it is an exclusive title, or hating it because it isn’t on the Xbox. Talk about the game. What your likes and dislikes about the game were, anything can be said. Just make sure it is long and well done.

This is the scoring system for the games. It is important to note that if a game has horrific gameplay, that should not at all demean any of these categories. For example. You love Ghost Recon, but you know it has bad graphics. So you think the gameplay makes up for this. Well don’t. Give it a mark unbiased by any other factors. Give each one a mark out of 10, and if you would like, you can explain it.

Sound: This entails everything that you hear in the game. Consider things like Dolby Digital, personalized soundtracks, variety of sayings (if applicable), etc.

Graphics: I think this is pretty much self explanatory. If they s*ck, then don’t give them a great mark.

Gameplay: Did the designers actually think before publishing this title? Was it a rollercoaster ride that kept you on the edge of your seat many hours into the night, or was it one of those games that makes you want to burn it from boredom.

Controls: When you started playing this game, were you amazed at how smoothly the controller setup was, or did you find yourself trying to change the whole setup of the buttons.

Originality: Ports from the early 90’s won’t do good here, but if a game is really creative, innovative, and something that you haven’t seen before, then good marks all around. Keep in mind that games can have a classic plot, like world war II, and still be original. It is how they put it together.

Quality: How well was this game made? Consider things like: Do the menus look like your little brother made them in paint? Or does the game seem to always freeze somewhere? Just an overall effect of the quality.

Long Term Value: Is this just one of those games that you can only play for 2 days, then you are stuck bored? No multiplayer or difficulty settings? Or does this game have enough to make you play until you are 70 years old?

General Score: You could give a game 10’s in most categories, but it really was a stinker and you gave it a 4.5. This is the overall effect that you got from the game. Here you collaborate all of the aspects of the game, measuring out good and bad and coming up with a final score.

Here is a test of what it should look like (EXAMPLE):

(GAME SYSTEM) (GAME NAME HERE)
Age Group: 12-17
Game Type: First Person Shooter

and here is my written review:

Gameplay: 9
Graphics: 10
Sound: 6
Controls: 7
Originality: 7
Value: 4
Overall (not an average): 6.5
FUN FACTOR: 8 (*NOTE* NEWLY ADDED FUN FACTOR ADDED TO REVIEW LIST)
ESRB: Everyone (*NOTE* NEWLY ESRB ADDED TO REVIEW LIST)
NUMBER OR PLAYERS: 1,2, Possibly 4 (*NOTE* NEWLY ADDED MULTIPLAYER TO REVIEW LIST)

pros:
- Great graphics
- Fun game
Cons:
- Little replay value
- Not very original (just another shooter)

*OPTIONAL*- At this point you can mabye right a paragraph style review, IT IS OPTIONAL.

If you would like any changes pm me and ill see if they should be added.
