Hehe, I know quite a few of you already have a last.fm account, ( Thanks to Cal bluetongue.gif ) so I was wondering if anyone else was interested in getting one bluetongue.gif

Last.fm is a massive music database that has a list of the songs you've listened to, and then finds other people who have similar taste in music and also recommends other artists to you biglaugh.gif

All it involves is getting a plugin for the media player of your choice (iTunes, WMP, Winamp etc..), which sends the title and artist of whichever song you've just listened to, and then creates a nifty history of it bluetongue.gif

Hm... I really should register... but I'm lazy.

(I believe there's also a ROCKbox plugin for last.fm too — for several portable players, including iPods. Haven't used it myself, obviously, since I don't use last.fm bluetongue.gif)

last.fm ftw.

There's also forums and stuff like that, very good site.

Plus all the stuff that can go in your sigs, as I so elegantly model.

EDIT: And also, all the bands I've found by way of last.fm's recommendations have been amazing. Veeeeery good. Doubleplus good

o.O I had a look at that site, looked confuzzling. Don't think i'd try changing the firmware of my ipoddy when it works fine currently.

I signed up on that ages ago when Matt and Sonya were badgering me into it, but i havn't used it much and i never got round to installing the iTunes patch, which i started using about 2 weeks after signing up, so not much point so far. Guess i'll have another look and try to get back into it.

I love Last.fm! It's really cool to see what you've listened to, and it allows you to just direct someone to your profile if they ask what kind of music you like bluetongue.gif . I've had it for several months now.

Looks good to me, though I listen to a lot of music on my iPod - not just iTunes. Still, sounds like a good idea, good way to get some new stuff. I'll try to put a chart thingy in my sig... if it would recognize the artists I play...

7502 songs since the 5th of May icon_sweatdrop.gif 2168 of them being Evanescence songs. Yep. I listen to Evanescence a bit too much. bluetongue.gif
