If you didn't know, the Transfer Forum was down in the Intellectual Area for quite a while to assist members with transferring text or image based work from school or elsewhere. It was intended to be an alternative to email, which is often logged, because one could post as a guest. To maintain privacy members could post threads under unassociated names, and to prevent criticism replies were not allowed (that permission was recently removed from SMods as well).

That forum was not used very frequently, and since guests could post it could be (and has been) abused. That is not a major issue since no discussions can be conducted in that forum, and it's easy for SMods+ to handle such threads, but some may argue that it is excess baggage and may not be necessary at this moment due to its lack of use or tangible benefit.



... So that's why I'm opening this poll. Would you like for it to remain available, or remain as an archive for the moment? Neither is permanent, but we're talking about our needs in the present.

Please vote if you have an opinion, and feel free to discuss anything regarding the forum. Right now it is in the archives, but it can return if enough want it back.

I haven't used the forum in ages, so I won't miss it. Spam has become very invassive as of late, so anything to cut down on it would be nice.

I vote yes. I don't use it for much, but when I do use it, I don't transfer anything that can't be sent from e-mail. It's nothing personal for me to log in from school or a library to send something home. And I get really tired of seeing drug ads when the main portal can be used to advertise much more useful threads.

Because Mike is too important to read properly. However, for the same reasons he stated, I'm voting no.

It's funny this, Cspace wasn't even thinking about this, and I gave the suggestion to archive it down while on MSN last night. He said no.

There will probably be times I'll need to use it for school. I forget my memory stick sometimes, and can't email myself since thats banned at school. Instead, we're forced to use this {expletive hax0rd by Cspace}ty school email system, and I haven't even logged on to that after my first try to email something to myself.
