You are stopped by a ghost!
"Foolish mortal, you have helped the enemy! I am the Necromancer Vha'aziel and I built this temple with my brother, Vil'aziel the Geomancer. We came across the Jewel of Earth during our journey and Vil began to learn how to use this magical stone. We found that it could be used to create and sustain a paradise beneath the arid deserts, so we excavated this place and took refugees from above and gave them new homes. Vil began construction on this temple to harness the power of the stone to maintain this paradise, but before he could finish, the dark one came and took the stone, killing off all the people in the process. Only my brother and I remained. We sealed off the entrance, trapping the dark on inside. We then attacked it, but we were no match. I narrowly escaped with my borthers dead body. I sealed his armor in a chest and turned him into an elite mummy warrior that would keep the scorpion in and outsiders out."
The ghost hovered on that thought for a moment (pardon the pun
).
"Once I finished creating the mummy guardian, I went to challenge the beast once more. He pinned me in that corridor and took me in his pincer. With my last breath, I forced my body to explode, destroying the scorpion's pincer and collapsing the tunnel behind it. All that is left of me is my ghost, which will forever haunt these lands. Without the stone inside the temple, this paradise will whither away. Please, go after that woman and return the stone to the temple before it is too late."

The rocks tumble and an opening is formed. You are now free to move about. This portion of the quest is over (Kaylana has escaped to Narinda).
