Neat Fire Combo

I just found a lovely looking combo for those elementalists sick of relying on blood necros for energy. It involves four skills (stats listed at 16 Fire Magic):

1. Mind Blast
2. Immolate
3. Glowing Gaze
4. Fire Attunement



Mind Blast (E)
E: 5
T: 1
R: 2
Target foe is struck for 63 fire damage. If you have more Energy than target foe, you gain 10 Energy.

This skill is a perfect replacement for Flare. It costs the same, casts in the same time, but thats where the similarities end. Mind Blast does slightly more damage than Flare, and it isn't a projectile. Also, if you have more energy than the target foe, you get 10 energy back. This makes the spell free to cast, and you gain 5 energy. On the downside, there's a two second spell recharge that Flare doesn't have.


Immolate
E: 10
T: 1
R: 5
Target foe is struck for 63 fire damage and is set on fire for 3 seconds.

This is a basic skill that does a decent chunck of damage and sets the foe on fire for 3 seconds. Burning does -7 health degeneration (-14 armor ignoring damage a second) for 3 seconds, or 42 damage. Combined, the total damage done is 105, which is pretty good.


Glowing Gaze
E: 5
T: 1
R: 5
Target foe takes 53 fire damage. If that foe is on Fire, you gain 10 Energy.

This spell is a lot like Mind Blast, but the requirement for the energy return is different, the damage is 10 lower, and the recharge is 3 higher. Those aren't really negatives, though. The energy requirement is low, the cast time is low, the recharge time is relatively decent, and the damage is pretty good. You even get your energy back plus 5 more if your target is on fire.


Fire Attunement

For 62 seconds, you are attuned to fire. You gain 30% of the energy cost of the skill each time you use Fire Magic.



Start by having Fire Attunement on. This will return 1 + 33% (rounded down) of the energy costs of all fire spells. This consumes 10 energy, but you only need to cast it once every minute. Start the combo with Mind Blast. Odds are, you'll have more energy than the foe thanks to Energy Storage and appropriate weapon mods. This will give you 7 energy (5 from the skill, 2 from Fire Attunement) and do some damage to the foe. Next use Immolate to do more damage and set the target foe on fire for 3 seconds. You'll get back 4 energy from Fire attunement. Immediately follow Immolate up with Glowing Gaze. The target should still be on fire, so you'll do even more damage and get another 7 energy back. At this point, you'll have done roughly 221 damage and gained 8 energy (and that isn't counting the natural energy regen). Even more amazing is that this combo is spammable. With short recharge times, you can link this combo indefinitely.


Since having energy is important, and it regenerates energy well, consider using a +15 energy, -1 energy regeneration mod.

Very interesting find, and very nice. Also due to this combo being only 4 skills, you still have 4 more skills to do as you please.

Yeah, you can use an expensive nuke, spam the combo once or twice to gain back that energy, then nuke again.

You'll break even if you don't have fire attunement, which I guess is still good, considering you'll get whatever natural energy regen you originally have.
