You posted that you want people to come to SeeD, but now you won't? Please, make up your mind.
Yeah, recruiting is needed, but there's more to it than asking apparently 150 people "in secrecy". If we aren't doing anything, they won't stay. That's why we haven't been recruiting yet, we're trying to get members organized to do things first.
When recruiting is conducted by means other than events, I've always urged for notices of recruitment threads to also be posted here so we know about them. There are reasons for that... First of all, our members would be prepared to welcome a potential group of new members. Second of all, we'll be able to help keep the thread(s) alive so they can have a greater impact.
It's a guild effort, not an individual effort. I appreciate your help, but just because it didn't turn out as expected shouldn't be used as vindication for the hopelessness of SeeD.

Because SeeD doesn't focus on RS anymore, SeeD isn't a guild anymore, is it simply 5-6 small, rather inactive guilds that shares the same website!
The RS faction isn't any more disadvantaged now than it was in 2003. Don't put the blame on the fact that others who don't play RS decided to stick with the guild and branch out, as opposed to abandoning it altogether. Many of us are having fun in games like GW and Blockland, and we have groups that really are doing stuff in WoW, EQ2, among other games. Just because they aren't expansionist doesn't mean they're any less of a faction (or guild), and just because they exist doesn't mean that the RS Faction is held back. In actuality they help the RS Faction indirectly by giving it visibility and better search engine rankings.

But then again, how often are you on RS?
What does that have to do with what you were quoting?
I don't have to play the game to be capable of attending events. I haven't leveled anything since 2004, yet I still come to any events that I can. I'm not leading this faction, and I'm only listed in the member list as "[at events]". I won't let you use my lack of personal ambitions in the game against this faction. It's irrelevant, especially because I can still help.

I have too much to do, irl and on RS. The SeeD spirit isn't there anymore ;\
Yesterday you said (here)...
"We're too inactive at RS.
Why not get SeeD and Curvedspace back to its former glory at RS?"
That's what we're trying to organize the guild to do. You're completely welcome to come along for the ride. Even if you feel down and don't wish to help, at least let others organize the guild without having to argue over nonsense.

As for the comments about new members being put down...
This one's fine
Bunch of "welcomes"...
Another bunch of "welcomes", some help...
Compliments, people joking around...
Not new, but a lot of "welcome back"s...
Nothing wrong here...
More "welcome" replies...
Another good thread...
More welcome replies, and some assistance...
Another fine thread...
This one's okay, but was awkward due to common feelings here toward UFF
Nothing wrong here
Thread is fine, another reply offering help...
A little unusual maybe, but okay

More good replies...
Another good thread...
Eh, at least it was last September
With Leia's necro thread aside, that's pretty much all the threads made by new or returning members on the first page of the Lobby. Excluding a comment about UFF, the only real insult was in the last thread from September. In that particular thread, I would expect an easy flamefest to start within most other RS clans anyway (which is hardly what happened here).
Looking around the RS Faction's forums, it's fairly similar to what we see up in the Lobby, save a few extraneous threads. Given those inevitable threads, the negativity can be seen as coming from the minority in our guild. When looking at other factions, things are even better.
Seeing how our members are free to speak their minds, I'd say that we're really well-off. Many are also vocally for the wide acceptance of new members.
This may just be me... But I don't really see a problem.
