I'm still against changing any names that have to do with the name 'SeeD', whether it be changing from that name or to it.
Thinking About A Big Change

It could be viewed as making things a little more modular.
Another expansion in effect... Don't think of "Councils" (grrr) as Gardens in the same sense as they are currently. They could be designed for those with something in common within the guild. SeeD in effect would be one of them, with its Gardens. Others could be designed to accomodate members with various backgrounds.
The guild, as a whole, would be treated as something that is all-inclusive. The name could also have a similarity to CurvedSpace making that division even less confusing. By establishing this it may be much easier to explain what we're all about. SeeD can also be SeeD without the confusing links to all our Factions.

Here's an idea!
IAs we grow significantly we could add more game "Councils" (don't need to say it again, but that's a pending name

...
"Councils" (*cough*) = Gardens
*Maybe Something Different* = Factions
Order of _____ / _____ Order = SeeD
SeeD = Runescape Faction
Thats a good one

So...what you're saying is, gardens could group people by whatever they play/do? Ie., DoA is one garden, rs is another? I don't know, that's how I'm picturing this.
Nope, those would be Factions and will be mostly unchanged. The title "Faction" may not even have to change.
What Gardens would become is much like what they are currently, but more broad. Called "Councils" (pending name) they could give members an identity, and there will be fewer than there are Gardens right now. I'm thinking two to begin, one being "SeeD" which also includes its Gardens. We could design them so they'd be significant, and could definitely be something for members to identify with. They will also be inter-game, but to begin with, only the SeeD "Council" would be game-centered. The other would probably be intended to bridge the gap between community and guild for those who want to identify with the guild but don't actively play online games.
As we grow, others could be created with other themes. Most will be game-centered like the "SeeD Council" (SeeD), but that one will exist for those who know our guild as SeeD. No need to abandon what we built, we could include it all in the system I'm thinking of. In the future, SeeD (the council) would probably become a closer knit group including the members we have today. By making the changes, though, we will make it easier to expand in a proper manner for a multi-game guild.
After thinking, maybe the community-centered "Council" isn't needed. We could work out something that makes sense for the other, if more than one makes sense for the beginning. If a change happens, SeeD would still become a "Council" or otherwise appropriate entity.

Another double-post. I'm on a roll.
What if the idea for Gardens and Factions are pulled together into "Councils" (
)? It'll kill a heck of a lot of confusion because Gardens have always been a source of questions. To do this the only change that needs to be made is that Councils aren't required to be linked to specific guilds. Obviously they can (and most will) be linked to in-game guilds, but they can also behave more like Gardens or Mercenary Groups (old members may remember those). Give members the freedom to define their own Councils' goals.
Simplicity is always good. We can still have an old-school SeeD council where the current Gardens will remain for one purpose or another. To us they'd have a significance, but to new members they'd provide no confusion since Factions have always been capable of organizing however they want.
So in this case...
Councils = Factions & Gardens
Also, I forgot if I mentioned this but the "Order" which would become our guild can potentially have a name parallel to CurvedSpace so it won't be something entirely new. If anything changes along these lines, we'll want as much continuity as possible.
