The path curves to the east. You walk slowly, feeling that something is near... You spot something on the floor. There seems to be an inscription, though you cannot read what it says. A few feet away is a leatherbound, nondescript book. It's overturned, and it looks as if it was strewn there haphazardously, as if it was kicked or thrown. It is open, upside down, and covered in layers of dust.

It looks as if the second half of the book is missing, the pages torn out. The very last page has, at the top, a drawing of the floor a few feet away. It has the strange inscription, just as you saw it, eternalized within these pages. Then, beneath it, it is translated... You read, "The way before ye is guarded. Let all who go forth perish, lest they hold within them the power of the Ancients. Turn thy back on this place, for if ye are not favored of the Ancients, thou shalt surely find thy grave within these walls."
