A stone wall is before you. You notice that there seems to be, in the middle, a tall, vertical shape cut out. To the right of it, around the level of your outstretched hand, is a small inscription, it too in a strange script.

A block the size of the cut out, but just beyond it, rumbles for a moment, and then sinks into the ground, revealing a large, cathedral-like room beyond it. Apparently, that was a door of some sort... Across the large room, you see a small archway in the wall, opening into a staircase going upwards.

Unfortunately, he doesn't get there... Neraphym is about halfway across the room when a metal gate closes over the stair entrance. A sound erupts behind him, and he turns in surprise. An amazingly tall man, around eight feet tall, stands about ten feet away from him, clad in full black colored armor and holding in his hand a sinisterly twisting sword. Darkness seems to seep from the cracks in his armor.
