I see that activity is picking up here in-game, it probably won't be long until GvG is feasible if we keep it up. Maybe it's time for us to figure out what we can do.
This thread isn't really about specific builds (listing abilities and such), let's just generalize our specific strengths and see if we can work out group strategies. Please only include level 20 characters (hopefully with all attribute points), characters you plan to build to that point, or PvP characters you plan to concoct. Everyone can potentially be involved, but let's only discuss characters that would be competative. If you need a PvP character, there's nothing wrong with that! Just post about what you'd be most comfortable doing.

I'll start I guess. Right now Guane Wulfdancer is my only PvP-capable character, and I really don't have a lot of ambitions to start a new one because my goals are to unlock skills in all secondaries for him. I also have a W/Mo (Harkin Lightstrider) who I'll probably get maxed out someday, but it's not really a goal in the present.
Guane's primary class is Ranger, but I don't really want to identify him with a specific secondary. He's most capable as a R/W, but I've unlocked every secondary for him.
Here's where I think I'm strongest in battles without heroes...
- Avoidance pet handler. It seems odd but I can "tank" fairly well, at least when it comes to the common definition for "tank" being a damage handler instead of a damage dealer. Almost all skills would be avoidance or pet attacks, excluding a self heal and a pet heal. I like to use this because it's not a natural tactic for a ranger, and it's better than many would expect. I've used this during skirmishes, so some of us have seen this tactic from me. I'd only use it if we have no warrior (primary) in the group, because I prefer to use a sword to bleed the target when I go with this.
- Ranged pet handler. I can take down a single target relatively quickly, especially a finger wiggler. I'm not so good with AoE damage, but with DPS for a single target. This is kind of my default build.
- I have no objection to trapping. I'd keep my ranged DPS but lower my pet's effectiveness, and can afford to bring up to two or three traps with me.
- DPS and proximity healer. Choose your flavor... Higher damage and necromantic cannibalistic goodness for all, or lower damage and higher regen for those in need. My arrows will still hurt the same with either.
- I'm working out a R/E build to annoy groups, but don't expect me to fill that role yet.
The place where I'm lacking the most is interruption. I can do it... But I'm sure others can handle it more effectively. I tend to get too focused on timing and lose track of the big picture. I've never needed it in PvE, which is what I usually do.
