I'm an omnivore. I've never viewed killing livestock for food as wrong. I'm not opposed to hunting, either (Poaching is a different matter). Of course, I don't believe in killing protected species, non-game animals, or pets. I see meat as a vital part of my diet, so it won't be going away any time soon.
Same here. I have NO problem with eating meet, in fact, if I want to eat veal I will. I know what they do to veals, in fact I've seen the movies and been to a slaughter house, but to me the food is good. To survive sometimes you have to kill your food, because quite frankly you cannot survive just on vegetables -- you also cannot survive just on meat. The problem with eating just one and not the other, is you can gain different diseases and other such things (E Coli, anyone?).
Now meat can cause you to get sick if it is not prepared correctly as well, so I find a well balanced diet works wonders for me, of course it all depends on what the person likes and dislikes. I'm not saying you need to eat everything, but once in awhile eating meat does help you, and the same can be said about fruits and vegetables. It's all about balance, of the body, the mind and, and of the sole. ^_^;

IMO being a vegetarian is the dumbest thing to do and then the parents feed their small kids that are growing with just vegetables and then they wont grow and they get short, weak and dumb.
*cough*
Parents can be, are, and will be stupid. Kids can quite frankly eat what they want. Ever heard of a friends house? My mother doesn't like raw onions, but I do, and I eat them. Just because a parent doesn't like something doesn't mean a kid does not, will not, or could not, like something a parent doesn't.
Another example is that my mother loves baked potatoes, and quite frankly I can take or leave them, now I love mashed and Au Greaten(SP?), but as for baked..eh..no thank you. I love some things my mother does, for example steak, pork, salads, apples (green ..not red..

), celery, etc.
And then there are some things I like that she doesn't particularly enjoy, for example - chicken, peas, green beans, etc. She enjoys peaches, I can take them or leave them. See what I am saying? Just because a child likes something doesn't mean a parent will or even has to, and vice versa, a child does not need to eat (or even like) what their parents like. I personally believe that everyone should try something, at least once, and if they never want to eat it again then fine. But at least they can say they tried it, and if someone doesn't want to eat meat? Their life. Not everyone likes the same thing others do. =)
Jeff.
PS: I have no NO problem with hunting, as long as the meat is used to feed yourself and/or others, AND the fur is used to clothe yourself or others. Hunting to simply hunt is wrong, at least to me, but that doesn't mean you cannot sell the fur/meat as long as the meat and fur is used. Hunting to simply hunt and just get the head, or whatever, as a trophy is wrong to me and that will never change.
