I always thought that disclaimer was legally incorrect. I guess this proves it.
Funny thing is, a lot of disclaimers overstate copyright laws and understate fair use. The ignorant masses take it in stride because they do not know any better.
Situation in a nutshell:
Professor uses clip for educational purposes(Legal under copyright law).
NFL orders clip taken off(Legal)
Professor requests clip put back under DMCA(Legal)
NFL orders clip taken off a second time(ILLEGAL, form of harassment.)
The right course of action would have been for the NFL to take the matter to court. Problem with that is there was no law broken. The NFL used bully-equivalent tactics and now they're being taken down a peg.
