Used to be a Martial Artist. Picking it back up in the summer.
American Shotokan.

And my chemical burn was caused by an explosion of an improvised bomb that went awry and detonated itself when we weren't expecting it. The chemicals fused and the reaction took place, with me being the only one near enough to get sprayed <3

Right arm and right side of my face got speckled. bluetongue.gif

Because I was bored and knew someone who knew how, so I asked them to show me so I could do it myself. Turns out, we THOUGHT we used the wrong chemical the first time, but when he went inside, the container started moving. I considered throwing it out into his yard, and got too close in a moment of hesitancy, so I ran. Halfway out the door, "BOOM". And I get sprayed with acid. bluetongue.gif

I tend to think of life seperated by: School/Work and Everything else.

So, in school, I once was in the Science room, and we were doing a lab, and had out hot-plates, and one guy dared to put my hand on one, after I did slowly, I relised it wasn't even plugged in, and I walked around half the room touching all the hotplates, and they were all unplugged, so then I go to my table, and someone called me, so I turn around, put my hand on the hot-plate (unconsiously or w/e, I didn't mean to, just wanted somewhere to lean on) and leaned on that hand, needless to say, every hot plate in the whole room was unplugged.... except mine >_<
After "dancing" around the room, the teacher opened her 'lil box of ice that was supposed to be used for the experiment, and I got my sweet relief. xD
It didn't really hurt when I put my hand on the hotplate, only a little bit, but I didn't notice it that much, but then when I leaned, it burned like hell

And, I similarly did Karate, Kempo/Kenpo (depending on the translator) to be exact. To give you the basics, it's about countering your opponents movements, and using it against them, and it requires alot of concentration, and swift, but controled movement. So on my third tournament, it was... I think the second to last round, and the special stipulation, was that you had to fight 2 of the opponents you beat eariler in the tournament. I'm not sure if you could understand it well from the brief description I gave you, but Kempo is tailor-made for regular tournaments, which are controlled one on one matches. There's little to no focus on handicap fights, so after almost knocking out one of the fighters, I went to the other one, tried to concentrate, and awaited his move (Kempo's not meant to "provoke" fights, very little on starting movements, I usually just do my moves to counter what they do, not a very physical style, but very effective if used right, and very flashy, xD) and he did a simple roundhouse kick, I doged it, and quickly ran in to take him down using his other leg, only to sidestep right into the other fighter's "knife edge", basically, a running kick right to the neck.
After that, I was completely out. xD

I fought someone who studied Kempo. He had been training longer than I had, so it was rather uneven. I lost 2/5 fights. It's one of the styles I want to learn later.

It's an interesting style, but not really made to inflict damage, which is why it's hardly used in tournaments, basically it's all evasive. To be pretty good, you'd have to take more then just Kempo alone, which is probably why I didn't do that well

I've been "introduced" to quite a few styles, Kempo's still my favorite though, one of the few styles that's perfectly legal if you ever get in trouble outside the martial arts scene. My Sifu was amazing, he studies the nervous system, and can do those chi-point attacks, at least by him, it's not as stunning as it is on TV, you don't really just instantly get knocked out/die, it's more of you slowly lose feeling in certain body parts, but used correctly, it's insanely cool. I think he knows and can adeptly use 18 styles, and has a black belt in 5, he teaches the San Antonio SWAT team eek4.gif . Hate to have to fight him, xD

Does your style do those Kata things? It seems most martial artist I talk to do, but only in the southern america region, not sure why -.0.

EDIT:Hah, upon getting bored, I found this, talks about Kempo and Pressure Points, interesting 0.0
