Yeah but I'd rather that even people that aren't immediately an obvious choice have a chance and can participate, if you can't self-nominate then the well-known people get nominated and others might get excluded.

Additionally if anyone has anything they'd like to donate as prizes, you're quite welcome to. I have some stuff to give away, but I'm not particularly rich so if others want to help out it'll be more impressive.

to encourage people to find guildies who will stay with us maybe a requirement for the length of time the guildie is with us before they are considered "recruited"?
and if someone is recruited make a note in the member list thread: "recruited by" for new members during that time period, to make tallying easier

Ugh, sorry I dropped the ball so badly on this. A bunch of things came up to stop me from actually implementing this idea when I wanted to.

Anyway it's been moooore than enough time for any suggestions about the implementation of the awards, so I guess I'll go make a topic dedicated to nominations. I've had a few people approach me with concerns about self-nominations, since some people then have a tendency to just put themselves down for everything. However neither do I want to exclude people who aren't immediately thought of, but still want to take part. I think the best choice might be to limit the amount of categories that any one person can be entered in. That should hopefully provide more of a chance to people other than Tanny, as well as focusing it on the awards that actually suit someone. Each guildie can only be entered in a maximum of 4 categories, whether nominated by others or themselves.

I'd also like to announce a new category, Girliest Mesmer! No, just kidding, please don't hurt me Tanny.
Anyway I'm going to go make another topic for nominations so it'll seem a bit cleaner. As I see it now there'll be a single topic for nominations, then a seperate topic for each category a little later, in order for people to make their case as to why they (or someone else) should win.

Other things of note: Winners will be able to list this most prestigious accomplishment under the 'medals' part of their forum profile, so there's something a little longer lasting.

Also... My memory isn't 100%, but... Draggy, was it you who said you might be able to make some small sig medal things for the winners? Someone mentioned it to me a while back, anyway. If you're still interested then get back to me about that, sounded like a good idea.

Yeah, I mentioned the userbar thing. It turns out my foot was actually fractured a small while back, and is in a healing process (just went to the orthopedics today), so I'm out of running for a few weeks longer... so I *should* have time to make one.

Another thing I wanted to get opinions on. Ari was bugging me to join in the contest. I'm kinda of the opinion that it's a little... unusual for the organizing person to actually be able to win stuff, and that if we had a reasonable amount of people entering it wouldn't be too necessary for me to do so. I'll leave the issue up to the masses though, since I don't really care whether I'm a participant or not.
