Trivia Competiton

I'm going to be holding a trivia competition on the forums. The trivia questions will be on anything. There will be semifinals>finals>winner. First, I'll put one question up which will be at the end of this post. The first person to answer the question correctly will automatically in the semifinals. Then O'll put a second question up and the first person to answer it correctly will also automatically be in the semifinals. And you get the rest. Someone that has already made it to the semifinals can not answer anymore questions until I start giving out the semifinal questions. I will put up a total of six separate questions, so there will be six people in the semifinals. After I get six people, I will do the same thing again, except there will be only three questions and only semifinalists can answer the semifinal questions. The first three people will be in the finals. Then I will put up one last question. The first of the three finalists to answer the last question will win 1k for the prize. If you have any questions about the contest, post them here and post your answers here. Here is the first question:
Question#1:
What is the point in the Earth where seismic waves originate from called?

Dragonman, I'm starting to think that maybe you should change the question. Lol, but I don't think anyone with an IQ under 200 is gonna get this. Flush.gif

I never said you couldn't use anything to help you. grnwink.gif I just learned about this in school, and so far bball07 was the closest.

umm hard ? lol...and i got a thing to pick with..WASNT THIS MY IDEA? AND DIDNT I SAY I WANTED A FORUM FOR THIS? ~any btw did u mean were it origantes as in like its caused from volcano's...sudden movement from the earths crust,SURFACE WAVES originate on the Earth's surface at the epicenter IF THEM AINT IT THEN NO ONE WILL GET THIS LOL UNLESS THEY LOOK VERY HARD.

my answer is surface waves. it could also be the focus..wich look lol The focus is the underground point of the origin of an earthquake. Directly above the focus, on the Earth's surface, is the epicenter. so i go wit focus to..lol if were only alowed 1 answer..(wich bball gave 2) then i go with focus and fault cuz focus is the center of the whole thing and fault is like the crack that goes through the ground from a volcano im guessin.
im 98% sure its FOCUS
